Right Minerva has Tri barrel mod.

I see in wiki range change is -85 BUT when lookin' plan in store it says +500% range...what to believe? Is wiki out-of-date or Am I being idiot again?

current game info would be correct the wiki is probably dated

A modification which gives the weapon three barrels. For the Gauss minigun, it gives the weapon a better rate of fire and durability, at the cost of inferior range and accuracy. For the minigun, it gives the weapon an inferior rate of fire, but better damage, range, accuracy and recoil.

it might be bugged but go with whatever the in game info provides

Anything other than the standard barrel should be lowering the range. I wouldn't trust the descriptions on anything, particularly if it's translated in any way.

You'd have to look at the actual range stat. If you don't want to buy first you can test things in the modify menu by hitting show unlock (V off memory), and test fitting looking at the numbers instead of description.

I just bought it..I buy penta too when see it, I can grind 100 bullions to get even..easier that way.

I watched stream and tri + penta killed at same pace one boss..but penta is quicker and maybe thats why better..but I try both at some point

Ah ic ammo capacity changes too cool, yea my build isn't there yet, rifleman still. I looked cards and I need to squeeze card "+DR while using heavy gun" in some slot, and take all starts can about that.

Not into blöoodied, it's hell to keep up balanced with rads, I used it in FO4 but dunno why it was easier to manage in there. Aristocrat/ junkie for me.

Sadly I kinda lost (grind) motivation few weeks ago, nowadays I only pop in and out in F76 to check minerva + waiting 2x weekend.

Mooman yeah give him bad idea instead trying help him lol

So... It's bad to use your own eyes and look at what the screen is saying? BTW the penta barrel is only good for dps at short range. The single barrel is actually better in most real world situations due to higher range.

Try a penta vs. single at spread out events such as Eviction Notice (don't all camp the spawns...) or against flying Scorchbeasts as the game calculates range due to height diffences badly (mobs are further than they look).

Therefore the single barrel is better due to reduced ammo costs in the long run. 2mm ammo isn't too common needing lots of steel and lead due to low craft amounts.

There is far more to weapons than just DPS and TTK.

Agree. Used the gun for many years and tried all mods. Unless something has majorly changed the single barrel, tri barrel and penta barrel DPS were extremely similar anyway. However the strength of the Gauss minigun has always been decent accuracy and good range. So single barrel keeping this range and accuracy when the DPS is so similar is the way to go imo.

Each to their own and if someone likes the penta barrel with the damage decease per shot and the increased ammo consumption and the pitiful short range with the damage drop off you get with that short range, then good. As you pointed out, there are many situations where needing to get up close to your target for the penta barrel to work properly is not possible or practical.
