Nah, they've been around long time before alien event was added, they just are somewhat rarer spawns.

yeah i know ive just noiced they appear more and more often the closer you get to an alien event

I've only seen them 3 times, once in the shooting range in the toxic valley, in campfire tales and again around toxic valley they've disappeared 2/3 times. I've seen the smiling man around 5 times though haha

My low level character encountered several as the end foes in Campfire Tales the other day. There seemed to be a heap of them and only two of us.

As I set my second camp, he was there, now I´m afraid that he visits my camp constantly

I have 2 camps that when I log into them there is a 90% chance one will be there. They have killed me a few times because I forgot and was doing something else while waiting for my player to spawn. They always make all the animals and anything else in the area to join them. Used to be it could end up being you against 3 Scorched Beasts and a Hoard of Super Mutants or even 3 Mirelurk Hunters and a big ugly Queen.

Haha this is my current camp in the bog i always have charred ghouls, crickets, mongrels, super mutants, scorched, bots, mirelurks(of all kinds), creepy manequins and 1-2 scorchbeast around my camp always. I sometimes return to half my camp missing hahahaha

I ended up getting rid of my heavy laser turrets because of this haha, spent all my scrap fixing them. Your camp is always peaceful and full of foxes(which is great for the tadpole badge haha). Even during events people who went to my vendor have told me they died at my camp trying to defend it hahahaha

All things i am missing for the badge haha, wish allies could be more heavily armed though. It would be nice if they didn't have just a pistol to fight against a scorchbeast.

Forgot to add the rabbits and scavenger- you can come to my camp anytime to hunt them all down, i let you do it
As for the allies, at least they don't die, but yeah, they are quite powerless against a more powerful opponent
