I freed up some camp budget last night I finally got the vintage water cooler and was able to get rid of my Corvega large water purifier, and the electrical pylon. I offset the budget I freed up by rerouting my external power to my vending machine adding two more wall mounted wire terminals and I added the camper with awning behind my up on blocks jalopy with the plans of turning it into like a visitor area. I was surprised that camper took up so little budget I didnt even see my bar move.
When the best builds feature goes live and everyone has the same camp, what exactly will we be liking? Someone's interior design fashion sense?
I get why prefabs exist, but I hate that they stifle creativity (though that's on the playerbase).
If that best builds is going to end up as copy/paste cities it'll get boring quick. Still, it might be better than a bunch of glitched out showcases.
Now I think about it, Bethesda should drop the best builds idea completely as it'll show just how flimsy that part of the game is.
yep or give us the ability to add ceilings to make rooms smaller vs having to glitch a flat roof and an angled roof together to get a ceiling and a non flat roof on the outside.
There is a lot they could give us to make building homes more viable and varied but its like they want to focus else where. Like they were supposed to give us roofs that can be wallpapered but yet they dropped it for a "later" date. I dont care about the wallpaperable roofs, I want double sided interior walls that can take independent wallpaper on each side so it is more viable to build a home with interior walls vs a giant open room or wasting a bunch of camp budget to glitch walls two in a place so you can have the interior side facing each way.
On the new Super Duper Mart I havent messed with it, but I am thinking about getting rid of my second camp and building a Super Duper Mart trading post camp I have a nice idea for that.
Prefabs are only great because you can get a big structure for almost no camp budget. Try to build something like that and youll have no camp budget for decorating. Still one could get around the whole everyone having the same camp idea by making prefabs modular. Could give us a bunch of modular pieces and we can shape it how we want at a reduced cost. This would ensure enough variance in design than just a simple cookie cutter prefab dropped everywhere.
Big reason why I dont use prefabs but I have a cool idea in my head for the Super Duper Mart that I think I will try using my second camp that I havent even loaded in probably three years now.
I personally would prefer to build my own structures, but the reduced budget of prefabs makes building everything I want so much easier.
I have only two gripes with prefabs:
1- they should all have a single conduit somewhere on the outside where the whole thing can be powered by hooking it up.
2- there should be a way to place foundations/floors and walls within them so you can turn tall rooms into multiple stories or cut large rooms into smaller ones.
Soon as you try to add next one to go inside says it is floating so was a no go sadly .
This is what I need to know. I was thinking to get a pre-fab one, but when I asked around yesterday here, I don't get a satisfactory answer.
That left a question about which one I should pick then...
Pre-fabs allow me to just throw down whatever building fits the theme I have in mind, and then my creative energy goes to fleshing it out.
Why can't we have a different form for our base limits ... ?
If I want to build a street portion on the two sides, for example ... .
I choose a rectangular form for my start to build ... .
C'mon, amateur!
Moo, the build system glitches are reason enough to push prefabs. I agree entirely, though.
Look up info on individual prefabs you wanna get. This forum is a good place to look for info via search bar in regard to bugs. A little extra effort on your part but it's the only way you're likely to get a legit answer; only a few hardcore players and whales have ALL the prefabs to even tell you, and they're probably too busy playing to visit here
Since they do fix things some of the issues with previous models are fixed. I'm a big fan of the Red Rocket station and western style tavern prefabs. I have a few more and I'm pretty happy with em, especially ones that cannot be made via the building system, Pittsburg Palace a good example of such. The mentioned prefabs can be built in and on.

Thanks :D the two you mentioned is not on the Atom shop right now, though the Pittsburg Palace is interesting one to get. I'll look around on the forum then about what avaiable and worth the cost.
