If you're looking for dark souls this isn't it.
If you haven't played a creation engine game this game is like Skyrim or Fallout 4 but without a difficulty slider and its set to normal or maybe easy.
It is kinda more like a minecraft game than a MMORPG
It's not a true rpg, it's mainly an MMO where events occur every 20 minutes where you kill weak enemies using your superior firepower. Events last anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. They are a lot like childrens party games. Or replaying the same battle scenario from a tabletop minis game over and over again.
There are a few rpg-like quests at the start but they are just like linked events i.e. the usual go here - kill that variety. There isn't any using your brain to nut stuff out.
But it's worth the money when it's on sale for a few bucks. The game world can be interesting to explore.
You can moon jump and shoot down on enemies or you can sneak and really you can break this game by climbing just out of reach of a melee monster
The fun in this game is in the story the random events, the neat things you can find and the collecting and upgrading of your gear and CAMP
more collectathon than FPS barely RPG but fun
The Daily and weekly challenges are brain dead. Boring, repetitive but helpful for completing the season and unlocking new plans.
Daily operations and expeditions are very easy once you've done them a couple of time, a decent character with good load out, and some reliable team mates.
Overall the game can be enjoyable, but in no way is it competitive type of challenge. I enjoy it more for building nice bases, wandering around, the quests, but combat (while I've died many times) has never really had me frustrated or realising I am bad at the game. Mostly its because I took on something I wasn't ready for.
