The moral of the story, try before you buy and don't trust a few minutes of sitting in store (those floor models are well worn in).
That's sort of how I ended up with my current one. Needed one and Target was the closest with anything in stock.
Ran over and tried a couple, this one seemed ok. Couple years later and not so much 😜
I have an authentic leather office chair in my authentic office but, the cat mostly sits on it because I can't watch tubi/netflix/whatever in there. Heck, coming from the box-tv generation, sometimes I just sit the flat screen monitor down on the coffee table and game/wfh while I watch tv
As Mooman said, the best way is to sit in a chair to determine what is best. I used all kinds of gel pads and back support cushions but nothing really helps. Probably a lot just to do with me though and a couple lower back injuries but the kneel chair gives a little relief.
I will say, as much as I prefer PC gaming, on the occasions I do anything on my PS4 the couch is really nice :D :D
If you want quality it will cost you
Also, don't buy "gaming" chairs.
Gaming is a code word for overly expensive and subpar quality.
Get professional help, from a professional chair store.
When I need the keyboard, it's on my belly and these laser mice work pretty good on my carpet.
I also use a controller for most things in fallout 76.
