No. Servers cost money to run and maintain. They won't be free. Bethesda has to get the money to pay Amazon for the use of the servers from somewhere. It is an ongoing cost, so there is an ongoing payment (Fallout 1st) for it.

Only one of those friends needs FO1st, and then they can invite you and any of their other friends to join them.

You can always get a job mowing lawns for some extra money. I would say look for one but apparently the government lied about 800k jobs being opened up. Best to start yourself, overhead starting out is low, as long as you can come up with capital for the lawn mower, weed eater and maybe a broom till you get a blower. Otherwise it's communism and everyone with two brain cells knows that doesn't work.

Whether or not 1st is good or not is subjective.

I'm on my 2nd month and the benefits are good but I wouldn't say every month.
I don't know anyone who plays so the Private server allows me to do things and get items easier without competition.
The Custom Server is IMO, best for testing since you can change how it functions and any progress doesn't share with the other two.

Trade your car for a scooter or two stroke bicycle engine. You don't have to get rid of your car because that is just crazy but on nice days breeze in on your vesper you know? This will allow you to save enough money from gas to afford the $12 dollars monthly charge. If you save up enough gas money you can pay for a year and get 33% off which is a fair amount of savings. Can also drive for Grub Hub, create an AI start up or get a paper route just to name a few things. Also for a nominal charge I can help people with financial planning to enable anyone and everyone access to fallout 1st.

Yes: if you have a friend with FO1st and ask him or her if you can play or your friends server (down side is he or she needs to be there as well and when he or she leave the private word you will be kicked of the server in around 30min).

No: if you have no friends with FO1st? Then it you can't play on any FO1st private world.
