How do I build a Water Farm?
I've not found a guide and not for lack of looking.
I'm not running a Gourmand build so I don't need much but Purified sells for a decent amount.

My 1st finally hit over 33,000.

This is one of those vague things the game doesn't explain well, and there is a lot of conflicting info on. I could be wrong, but from what I understand, your CAMP always produces 1 purified water per 2.5 minutes and deposits it in a random purifier, unless you don't have any purifiers. You can build a bunch of purifiers for more storage, but those don't seem to change the production rate.

Most workshops have water resource values of 8-10. This could mean they produce water faster than your CAMP.

There isn't really anything special to do; just build purifiers of whatever kind you have access to, and can fit in your build space. More purifiers = more storage.

From CAMP's I've seen people build over water and place numerous Industrial water purifiers in the water.
I believe they can produce 60 units of water in an hour but can only store 5 units so have to be regularly milked to get the maximum possible.
So every 5 minutes you could get 5 units from each.
Although I think the amount available from each is dependent on the time they were built.
To get caps my characters would loot corpses and sell to traders always maxxing out vendor budget at the start of play from the previous days efforts.
Extra caps from selling unwanted ammo at a cap each in the player vendor.
I don't bother anymore because my characters keep reaching the maximum currency allowances and there is nothing they need.
So it's lunchboxes and also recall cards for encryptid.

A suggestion: Vintage water cooler. They can be built on floors and/or ground (can't be built in shelters). You can stack 'em on top of each other...very high. So, you can craft plenty of them, depending on your camp budget. They have a max fill of 2, you will have to empty them often.

Correct, even if the resource collector can collect x/hour they are heavily restricted and requires you to collect every 10 minutes or so to realize that potential. I think thats bs to be honest but they do it to prevent you from being in the wasteland for six hours and come back to hundreds of a given item. Cant have things too easy.

I got rid of my large water purifier which stopped at 5 purified water in favor of a water cooler that produces more water per hour but cuts off after 2. If I wasnt going for a realistic look I would do like everyone else and build a bunch of them. But my big deal is I really dont drink purified water much I am always selling hundreds of bottles a day to vendors to maintain my x50 purified water limit in my inventory. I wanted to get rid of the gaudy purifer in the river infront of my home and all the electrical wiring, saved myself a bunch of camp budget doing that and replacing it with a simple vintage water cooler.

The water boiler is nice it stocks up to 15 boiled water at a time and I just leave mine at max till I need boiled water for crafting since 15 is a good starting point. 2 purified water or 5 purified water is not something that is viable in my eyes.

I agree with Mrs. Vampire. Try to find a Vintage Water Cooler plan. They can only be sold by other players since it's not available to be dropped anymore. The plan will cost a decent amount, but it's worth it. You can basically make a wall of water coolers, one stacked on another, side by side and they produce up to 24 purified water per hour (1 every 2.5 mins), but can only hold 2 at a time. So, if you build 20 coolers, you'll have 40 purified water every 5 mins.

** According to Fed76, the plan is worth about 20k.

I love my vintage water cooler plan.
I only need two for four units of water which is more than enough for me.
Nice and quiet and unobtrusive just like the tato generator.
I find Company Tea and a herbivore diet of soups negates the need for much drinking water.
i use much more boiled water for cooking with that character.
I thought I'd try something different than carnivore where the food comes to you.

Yep lots of options out there where you dont even need purified water. I dont use mine cause I use nuka grape quite a bit, it cures radiation and refills thirst. So I dont even carry rad x or radaway anymore I just carry nuka grape for that.

boiled water I need though for cooking as well as for crafting liquor, whiskey is one of my most common liquors I craft as it gives x2 to strength which is enough for me in cases where cooked radstag and cooked deathclaw isnt enough to allow me to fast travel. The gulper shine is actually better as vintage form of it is x4 strength but its heavier than whiskey is

Pretty sure I sold one of these plans for half price, 1000 caps.🙃

Anyway I also endorse the vintage water cooler as the best way to farm water,
if you have the plan.:catinablanket:

Someone had a large flat floor and a high wall with those things stacked at least 3 high in about 20 rows or something.
Too bad we can't set up a small manufacturing thing like Fallout 4.

That would be great to be able to setup a plant to collect items from our resource collectors, but we know they wont do that, they dont want us to be able to be drowning in supplies. Its also why they only dropped the cremator from x12 fuel per shot to x10 fuel per shot, sure its a powerful weapon but it is very fuel hungry and you dont get a return, one shot to kill an enemy you are looking at seeing x5 to x9 fuel on the corpse, if the corpse is a legendary you have a decent chance of seeing x100 fuel. Yet my plasma caster which is a one shot kill on ghouls and a two shot kill on super mutants, I can start off with 1,000 ammo and in 3 hours be at 5,000 ammo. Anything that will make life easy for us they will always hinder it in some way.

I'm a pretty new player and hadn't realised Purified Water was even worth anything, so thanks for the tip. I have a couple of Wells down to keep me supplied with Purified Water, so I might try putting a few more down and making some caps. 🙂
