plasma rifle build suggestions

Whats the best loadout for:

1) sniper plasma rifle?

2) flamer plasma rifle?

Want one of each for sniping (obviously) and close flamer dmg. Was wondering what mods people use for each. (not worried about enclave at this point.....)

The plasma rifle benefits from the rifle and the science perk, though the science perk only affects the energy damage of it. If you consider that science is a maximum set of 6 cards, you are better off using it with a laser gun as it entire damage is energy and hence it all benefits from the perks, making the laser gun superior to the plasma, as soon as you use science.

what about "slug buster" legendary plasma rifle? it has fire damage on top.

As far as I know, the SB does not benefit from science at all.

the plasma gun severe Beta wave tuner for extra flame damage

I think thats possibly the best standard mod you can add, could be wrong, I was maxing out a flamer just the other day

A side note: you want a Enclave PR with a flamer barrel. In case you wonder how to get it? I have 6 of those.

The Enclave PR are the best, no matter what other people say. Down side of the Enclave PR is: you cant scrap them to learn the plans, you have to look for the mods which are available in Watoga vendors.... if.... you are lucky but i can help, you out if you want caus have a few.

Apologies, I was thinking perks when I read (card) loadout.
Might also have wondered why anyone would bother modding a plasma unless you have perfect legendary 3 star version.

Come to think of it Admiral, I could use a aligned or precise stock if you have one. Sadly station and Pheonix have not been kind in that regard.

The best version of plasma guns are as pistols. For whatever stupid reason the rifle and most barrel mods increase the AP drain considerably.

Pistols still have a ridiculously high AP drain but not as severe as adding a stock.

You can still do Sniper and Flamer versions as pistols. Another nice aspect is clearing up perception for perks such as Glow Sight and Exterminator (bye bye Cave Crickets).

I've found a flamer and vicious receiver mod so far at Wataga vendor, and an automatic compensated rifle at Modus, but holding off until I snag a glowsight before assembling.

Its some pretty rare stuff, even with server hopping! The Enclave events haven't dropped anything :(

A lot of people are after those mods incl myself. Just do the event: Dropped connection (got a few Enclave PR including the flamer barrel) hope you get one. Keep in mind the best ones are with the reflex sight (less AP cost).
Just look at the Watoga vendors at least 2 times a day with server hops.
Hope you get what you want my friend and my offer still stands, have 6 Enclave flamer barrels, they ain't cheap for trading to be honest.
