What should I start saving in anticipation of particles?
Am I "learning" these legendary mods from salvaging weapons with them, or are they a consumable single item, sort of like how vendors can sell weapon mods?

If I start getting quad and bloodied weapon drops - do I save them to "learn" those mods specifically and they apply to any gun, or do they apply only to the specific gun?

What kind of things are people holding on to? I'm trying not to throw away anything that may be helpful to keep.

no, any non-legendary you scrap you have potential to learn a mod for that weapon type.
legendary can not be learned, only applied, which are random and use cores and modules

edit;
I would say if below level 50, scrap and sell everything, then focus on your build maxing out your play style - to suit you

This is in regards to the upcoming legendary particle changes in which some people have said they're holding on to some weapons with in anticipation.

oooooo this is new, my bad thanks and good point :)
No worries. I was just curious what people's understanding was. If it turns out that you're ripping bloodied straight from a legendary weapon, I'm going to be really annoyed if I end up scripping them all right now.

Though I do have like 1k legendary modules and cores saved up lol

I wouldn't go too crazy until we have a better idea of WHEN this will be added. atm, it's still 6 months away assuming they get it right fast.

set up a spare storage account unless you have already? Some items you won't be able to swap between chars obs, but if there will be a way to 'extract' this type of mod in future, it shouldn't matter what the weapon or armour type is anyways i'd have thought, interesting idea though. Crafty, but I like it.

Just save up scrip. Scrip will still be useful for modules and mystery picks (finally).

The really small chance of a mod or plan unlock means you'll need hundreds of items based on current RNG on PTS.

It makes one star items valuable, hence the mystery pick. With one star it reduces the RNG.

Unless you have high weight reduction and are willing to lug around a lot of items I wouldn't horde as this update is months away and subject to change.

I keep seeing people comparing it to how scrapping and 'mod' learning works now... like u scrap a pile of pipe rifles, mods attached or not, and u got a chance to learn most (if not all for most weapons) the possible mods on them...

Hence I am curious, if u scrap a bloodied weapon, an axe for example, do u have a 'chance' to learn ANY possible legendary trait that can land on axes? If it is 1 star, do u ONLY got a chance to get 'bloodied' mod (or box or whatever it called) or can u get any of the massive list of near-useless legendary mods from it?

And to continue, does it also give a chance, regardless of the stars, to gain any legendary said weapon can have, if so, then there is no point (except if your stash is capped out) scrapping 2 and 3 star items at all, just save those for scrip and trash all 1 stars....

You have a chance of what's on the gear. If it's a Bloodied axe you'll have a really small chance at a Bloodied box mod or even smaller chance for plan.

Mods are generic and will work on any eligible gear. Any weapon and some are weapon/armour such as Aristocrats.

The big issue is the how small the chance is on the current PTS. If that is increased then the system works better.

Its around a 1% chance to get a mod from the weapon. So maybe 1 mod per 100 bloodied 1 star weapons. If those weapons have other legendaries then your chance of getting the bloodied mod is that much smaller

What if I already know 99% of all mods for weapons. 8 out of 10 of my players know everything I can think of.

weapon mods and legendary module(er.. box mods, plans, etc) is totally different, I was just using it as a backdrop to ask the question(Since people have described them as similar)
Phantom Jul 6, 2024 @ 2:22pm
Well angry scripted 2000 glowing at 9 / per 3* and had a 0% drop rate of modules

Which was 667 chances at getting a module and it didn't happen

So we can either conclude that they have a bugged drop rate or it is likely 1/1000

What you should do is horde as many modules as you can as they are doubling in cost

OR quickly obtain whatever you can for partial rolls to turn into perfect weapons roll things until two stars are good then hold them to add a boxed mod
