No more Yao Guai Roast?
Has it been replaced by the “Tasty Yao Guai Roast? … that takes 12 meat to make?
Also, does making this one qualify for the Tadpole badge requirement?

I’ve found some ambiguous info online suggesting that it does work and has replaced the old version that only took 2x meat but, if so, WTF, Bethesda?

The new Tasty recipes were put in a while back along with the Light versions. All the recipes use more meat. In the past you could stack all the different +% to melee damage to get quite a big bonus. Now you only benefit from the latest meal you eat for melee damage. Quite a downgrade compared to the old way.

No idea if it works for the Tadpole badge.

Yeah, can confirm that it works for the tadpole badge. Just got it.

But FML- 12x Yao Guai Meat and 4x Pepper for that single recipe. It’s ridiculous.

…and Yao Guai only drop ONE meat! WTF is that?

A single “Tasty Yao Guai Roast” has got to be like 4000 pounds of meat.

For farming meats, take the perk in perception where you have like 80% chance to get more meat from animals. I find even taking rank 1 or 2 of that perk makes a big diff and you get plenty of extra meats. But rank 3 of it makes you almost always get extras.

Get a freezer from the raiders, save until you have 12, problem solved. Bethesda did the right thing here. Sure, before they were cheaper to make, but they all stacked, so many of us were just making some of everything then using as many as we could. Now, you save them up or do a little farming and you can make a few at a time.

Each of the old Melee meats now have the same 3 variants light, regular and Tasty. The melee bonus is progressive, I think it's 20,60 and 80, but with perks/mutations it's more like 40,100 and 200. So, you can make the regular ones with no extra ingredients for a moderate bonus or the Tasty ones for the big bonus. Light ones are only good if you're just going to craft and sell them for xp and vendor drain.

All daily/weekly sell challenges require the regular ones, light ones do not work. You might be able to use tasty, but why would you?

Bethesda 'logic'. I absolutely hate the new food system (tbh I hated the old too). You need so much meat for 30 minutes of buff...

Who ever they listened to for those numbers... don't. Not everyone is a West-tek grinder and rolling in Mutant Hound meat, Bethesda...
