[Fashnacht] They added an "anti-afk system", I guess?

Went to Fashnacht (first time, ever). Half the people are afk. The other half insta-completeing ALL the objectives in a blink of an eye, without letting others do anything at all. Then the parade starts, enemies spawn here and there - I participate in killing them, at least, thinking this would work. Parade ends. We light up the fire (which I also participate in, since I run Holy Fire).

Event is finished. I get a +1 event in the weekly challenge of doing any 5 events, but... ZERO REWARDS. None of the Fashnacht related (masks or whatever), nor even the gold boulion tickets - NONE. Nothing. Nada.

I got nothing because I was "afk", according to Bethesda? Because I couldn't even touch a single objective, since it was always insta-completed by someone else before I could even read what is needed to be done, let alone react and go do it?

Great design, Bethesda. Ain't touching this event. Who needs some dumb masks anyway.

It doesn't matter what you do on the event, you still sometimes get the reward and sometimes it just bugs out and them rewards don't pop up after the compeleted event.

Just did an AFK (to test) on the event, got all rewards (plan/junk/caps) and Glowing Minotaur mask.

Did not shoot boss, did not sit at instruments, even showed up 10 mins before to afk on top of roof.

However I did do an event yesterday and got nothing from it, absolutely nothing and I did 30% of the objectives. And event was progressing in top corner hud. Even shot the boss like crazy... only thing I got was legendary on boss corpse. -shrugs-

The development team is aware that in some cases players have not received their rewards for Fasnacht after finishing the event.

A fix for this is in progress and when we have more information on when it's ready to be released we will let everyone know.

This way, it won't be overloaded (like how the Neurological EVent is over in one minute because so many players join it at one time), people will be able to do or experience more of the event ((which need more time/countdown overall)), etc etc. A bit of player-load-balancing, so to speak

Yes, but actually no. There are currently multiple exploit ways of murdering the bots in a blink of an eye even if you are literally solo. Sooooo...

The event is bugged.
Auto-Axes and Chainsaws can reliably kill a Storm Goliath within seconds, then yeet it across arena.
Gamma Guns can do the same but less reliable.

My experience with Fasnacht has been really cool and fun and normal with mostly contributing teammates and there is only one thing I may have done differently that you might want to consider:

Build your main camp on a desirable resource node and this will influence which servers you get connected to and if your chosen site is already claimed then immediately disconnect and attempt to hop to one that isn't.

I don't know any other way to filter out the afk leech community (if that's a thing) but I have had good results so far.

It's not bugged.

Fashnacht got nuked yesterday as about half the server was afk there, I felt bad because some guys camp was close by and he wasnt afk, he was participating. I went over afterwards, fixed a few walls and made sure his vending machine was working before leaving.

Pretty much incorrect, I am semi-afk. I only wait for 1 min before event and then participate. Having all the mats needed to speed up the event, then server hop in hopes to land on an other event. Most often of times I do 2 events, second event not doing anything but joining the area. So no, there is no anit-afk measurement I would say.

I participated from start to finish in prep and killing and all...I even used a Lunchbox at the start and got NOTHING at its conclusion

That's a bug in gen. You can afk and get all the rewards. That's the only way you will ever collect everything. I got a glowing unicorn mask last night while i was asleep. Insta completing obj is easy as it always the same matts I bring them with me. Not giving rewards is 100% a bug you only half to be in the area all OBJ are team based while in the area.

I've walked the length of the main street and partway back again after the quest has started before it recognised that I'm was even there. There is a noticeable gap between user events like taking a shot and game responses in the game anyway but fass seems to be much worse.

Regarding afking it happens in all major events nearly all the time not just Fass. The top levels of the church in Fass have often got 2 or 3 level 800's in sniper poses shooting at the walls. EN usually has people glitched into the interior of sheds afking away making a loud racket. And so on. The desperation is really sad.

If you know what is needed, for each of the Fashnacht Bots, you can have 50 wood for the Lumberjack, with out going to the wood piles. If you have eggs left over from the stream, or the frogs, you can turn them in to the baker. Those can go fast. IF someone AFK on the Band Area, then the musician bot, gets to lead the band faster. But, there are a lot of jumpers, and afk. It can be hard at lower levels, and If it gets nuked even harder. But, I would be nice if someone doesn't leave you team and your carry weight gets recalculated, and you get nothing, if your carry weight is high. Other then, the carry weight bug, I don't know what could be causing no rewards. But no rewards, is not fun.
