Any tips for storage management?
I maxed out my stash for the first time and when attempting to clean up space I realized that vendors have a daily cap limit so I ended up giving a bunch of stuff away for free. Any advice you can give on what I should store an how much?

You can sort by weight, see what takes up all storage. Usually have ammo on me, and remove theit weight with perks.

If you don't have a subscriber scrapbox keep max 100-150 mats for most common mats. Keep only food and drugs you need on your character and use weight reduction gear for food//chems/weaps if you manage to roll it as well as weight reduction backpack (for food nets most benefits but if you never carry food use chems).

Food and water and chems are heavy.

Make sure you don't dump junk in there, make sure it gets reduced to scrap first.

Don't keep unlimited amounts of gunpowder. That stuff is heavy.

Save some space for having alternative weapons or gear if you need, as well as for when you lazybum it and just dump crap into stash because you're too busy to visit Mmmurghurghhurr.

For junk, scrapped junk takes up less space than regular junk items. And then if you "bulk" the junk, it seems to take even less space.

But, yeah, the game wants you to limit how many total weapons and other gear you keep, so you might have to specialize in a limited number of weapon types or builds.

All lootable things respawn on a 255 item timer. Bulk scrap and sell it. When you need something specific, go nearby and do loot loops. Angry Turtle has some good videos on the subject.

Ok. Sorry to hear that.

Don't keep ammo types you are never going to use. Especially things like missiles, mininukes, 40mm grenade rounds. Those things weigh a lot.

Don't save lots of water and chems.

Don't save lots of junk you can easily find in the world (steel and wood).

Don't save weapons you are holding onto for sentimental reasons.

Oh, vendor the stuff you don't use but do kinda want. Like ammo for weapons you don't use.

If they don't sell, no problem, and if they sell, money is always useful.

Sell really cheap, and if they don't sell then clearly that's the world giving you the sign that you should keep them...

I was incredibly surprised when I realized that stimpacks are 0.75 weight. They weigh triple as much as Rad-X or Radaway.

It's not unusual for my toons to have 50+ stimpacks, which, as it turns out, is 37.5+ weight...

I've since cut down on how much aid items I keep on hand.

It's a "hard" learning process to manage the Stash Box without Fallout 1st membership.

Keep playing and experiment things. Know how to prioritize your needs and what is rare/scarce (ballistic fiber, gold, screws, etc ... ) ... .

But the game have changed, easier now to find what you need ... .

Fallout 1st Trial is still ongoing, just put your Scrapbox and ammo storage box at your camp, take out every junk and ammo from your stash and put it there.

Don't put chems, stimpacks and ammo in your stash, they do not benefit from weight reduction perks.

Just don't have too much of resource junk. Stay within 500 units. And don't hoard/store ammo, pick your guns, and collect ammo only for them, to a certain point ofc.
