Why can't I boil purified water?
Am I missing something or we really can't boil purified water. If so why?!
We need boiled water for recipes but we can only boil dirty water.

Also is there a better / quicker way to obtain dirty water, preferably in bulks, other then collecting from rivers or pumps one at a time?

Please understand sir, small indie studio only one guy did all the coding and he quit the team years ago.

You can get lots of dirty water by mashing R instead of E from most standing bodes of water like rivers or ponds. Some might give you toxic water that you can't cook with so watch out. You can also gather rapidly from other sources like pumps by using it with E normally and mashing R while its doing its pump animation.

It's actually a game limitation in how recipes are coded. They can only take in set ingredients, not a wildcard such as water.

Theoretically it could be done but you'd need duplicate recipes for each that require water. There would be a lot.

So the easy solution is to leave it as is. It works even if it is unrealistic.

ah, someone giving the real answer instead of backpeddling and making up excuses for them. as refreshing as a sasparilla in july

Ok let me start with the fallout 1st free trial.

Sometimes, maybe once or twice a year if we are lucky Bethesda introduces a free week long trial that gives access to some perks of fallout 1st. This lasts a week only, and counts down when they add it into the store, so grab it as fast as you can.

This free trial only gives you access to Tents, Scrapbox and Ammobox, 10% score boost, two daily rerolls, 1st daily challenges, and sometimes a free item like the red mrfuzzy workbench.

This is a free trial, not the actual fallout 1st; its to entice new players to subscribe to fallout 1st ( it has won over me :( )

Yes the water boiler is locked at pg 55, which is nothing new as if it were a scoreboard reward in the past, it would have been somewhere in the 50's to 60's level of that scoreboard.

If you wish for this item you will need to rank up; which is easy. The challenges section in the in-game menu will show up, you want the daily and weekly challenges.

Each rank up will give you 25 tickets, which if all you want is the boiler you would have way more than enough. To get to the boilers page you need to rank up, you need rank 55 to unlock the page. Currently I am right around 71 doing this with no grinding and or farming (vanilla), just completing my weekly and daily challenges.

Once you unlock the page you must first obtain Fallout 1st, and or the season pass to unlock the chance to unlock the reward.

For the season pass ( I do not recommend ), if you wish to purchase it you can do so on the SEASONS menu, there will be an option there to purchase it for 1500 atoms. Now the reason I highly stride against this is because Fallout 1st is 12.99 for one month. Or $6.49 for brand new subscribers ( You )

Fallout 1st
- $12.99 cost, which grants you 1650 atoms as a bonus
- Already grants you access to the unlocking of Fallout 1st rewards
- Many other perks

- ONE MONTH ONLY, once your subscription has ended you will no longer be able to unlock any Fallout 1st rewards you missed; unless you purchase another subscription.

Season Pass
- 1500 atoms down cost, which for that you would need to pay $20, or one $5 and one $10 pack of atoms. (2400 atoms vs 1600)
- Stays until end of season ( sometime in June)
- gives access to the unlocking of Fallout 1st rewards
WOW! Thank you SO much for a very detailed rundown.
Such a shame the countdown starts with the offer. I've been playing for a week and kept away from it for the last moment, now I only have 1 day left with 1st pass.

The hardest part is to rank up the seasons page... To me it said it requires 7500 atoms to bring me up to page 8.

I would assume though, once you unlock stuff or buy 1st specials, you'd still own and be able to use them even if you discontinue subscription right?

Well when you are trying to make cutting fluid which is used to make oil, so you can use it to make fuel for your flamer. And to make most of the drugs you will need purified water. Unless you are a crack user then you can just use boiled water I guess.

No... But I wasted some "tickets" on "expirable" nuclear codes =(

That is a thing entirely and I agree. My crazy long winded (but fun response) was why can't he just boil pure water down into "boiled water" lol.

Certainly an annoyance since day one.

What can it actually be used for?
-> Diluting meds at low levels.
-> Farming to get all of a vendors caps.

And I guess you could drink it.

I throw it on the ground.
