Why can't I boil purified water?

Am I missing something or we really can't boil purified water. If so why?!
We need boiled water for recipes but we can only boil dirty water.

Also is there a better / quicker way to obtain dirty water, preferably in bulks, other then collecting from rivers or pumps one at a time?

You can collect dirty water very fast from rivers/lakes. Just look at the water and press R (whatever key you have it bound to) and keep pressing it very fast. You will have plenty of dirty water before you know it.

You can spam rivers and pumps by drinking first then clicking gather water as fast as you can

Sad... I wish we could use purified water to boil at least...

Boiling dirty water, just makes it cleaner and less radioactive so you can consume it. You have to acquire actual water purifier contraptions that you build and place in the water, then it is not necessary to boil the water any more. Vendors at White spring I believe have some for sale..

There are a few dirty water and boiled water generators that you can purchase from the atomic shop; some are worth it, but to me I really do not care for them as its 20 times faster to just gather it yourself.

Spamming for about 5 seconds can grant at least 20 dirty water

You can only boil dirty water like people said, you can collect them everywhere where water is, in Watoga is a lot of boiled water to find.

Purified water is more to keep your thirst meter up, most drink recipes require boiled water.

This is a resource-heavy survival game, you gotta get used to it asking you to actually play it to earn resources now and then. You can pick up unlimited dirty water for free in so many different places because it's literally just water, and if you really want to be lazy then eventually you will get generators specifically for Boiled Water. This current season pass actually has a Water Boiler camp item that generates Boiled Water on its own for you.

You're missing my point, I'm not looking for dirty water to drink, it is needed in recipes, the question I'm asking is why can't we also boil the clean purified water?

OH YEAH?! No that's good news, thank you so much for letting me know, this was exactly what I was wondering...
Sad that they are locked behind atomic shop but glad we can earn atmos without paying.

Their time interval doesn't matter btw... As long as I'm able to go near and collect 20 with 1 button I'm down with that... I don't wanna break my keyboard pressing R infront of pumps.

It is but since fallout 4 it has also various options to autonomise resource gather and this "Water Boiler" is just what I'm looking for.

I worked for $tarbux during school days and a customer asked me for diet water so I gave her a san pellegrino and she was happy.

open water . simply walk and collect every few meters.
btw distilled water loses all minerals too. it is actually suggested not to drink it since its ph isnt palatable to humans and animals anymore.

The water boiler is a current seasons reward; Fallout 1st reward only though.

You can absolutely create purified water, you need water filters crafted from bleached dogwood and coal. You need to do it at a chem station.
