Repair kits?
I'm new and can never repair any of my stuff, all armour worn out most my weapons worn out, not getting armour drops
Is there a farming trick?
I cant craft kits, honestly its a bit of a PITA that we cant just click repair and move on

You can click repair and move on thankfully. Either go to an armor or weapons workbench, select the item and hit T to "inspect/repair" the item, then hit R for workbench repair. There are some perk cards you can pick up too to make these repairs better and cheaper.

Really the only advantage to a repair kit is it saves you resources if you don't have many, and sometimes they're given out for free.

Things breaking is part of the game. You can apply perks to make things last longer. At a workbench if you don't have the necessary components to repair tings the menu can tell you whats missing from your stash and you can select to search for the component. Other perks let you get more components from scrapping.
My armour broke last time I played from clearing out robots and I couldn't repair it because I was missing a screw. So I went searching for a screw and found other interesting things.
I think the idea is before heading out from camp to tackle a serious task you get your gear and supplies ready.

You may wish to keep spare weapons handy. I'd hate to be in the middle of something and my only weapon break down and I have no backup.
