Most and least used crafting supplies?
Specifically with camp and item building.
Is there any crafting materials that seem to be the most commonly needed for things and anything that seems to never be needed?

Like wood, steel and aluminum seeming to be fairly commonly used versus something like acid probably never being needed?

I'm guessing there's a few things that would be item specific sometimes and I know various supplies would have there own needs, but I'm looking at the building of things like walls and floors and decor and such.

What you need is dependent on what you want to do. Everything is used in something, sometimes. There is no most/least except perhaps Lead and Steel as most and then there's everything else.

Screws are the thing I always seem low on and then I go farming for them.

Acid/Oil I have ups and down with. Acid is used in a few things and oil for Fuel ammo

The change to ammo drops has made it a bit less of a issue but Copper is also something I always have tagged because I use a lot of energy weapons and it is used to make ammo for them.

BUT YMMV it really depends on what you do. If you don't do a lot of crafting them most of it is not needed. If you like building camps then all of it is needed. Depending on your Weapon and Armor of choice you will need more of what it takes to build and repair those.

Thanks. I know things like weapons and armor and such would be more.... specific??? stuff I guess, but yeah I'm wanting to focus on the camp building for a bit so I'm trying to figure out what supplies I should be focusing on for that ove things like ammo and such.

Cement, especially for making solid foundations for your camp. All else is surely used for other things. Acid and cloth for unrefined gun powder, as well as steel and lead for making your own ammo.

Without a wide spectrum of building plans you focus on what those plans require. Primarily wood in the beginning.

For me Oil is pain in the ass required for most repairs and gear crafting and ofc for flamer and Cremator

For camps you will need Wood, Steel, and Glass depending on what types of stuff your building. Early you will only have wood foundations so lots of wood. Then you will unlock concreate so you will need a lot of that. At some point your going to upgrade your walls and roof options and then its steel and glass.

But you want anything that is mechanical in your camp then you need screws (every turret needs them) and springs and oil.

Copper for everything powered and for making power lines.

It gets really messy kind of quick. So just kind of stock up on everything as you can. If your stash gets filled up look at what you have and pack up (bulk) and sell stuff that you have a lot of.

Btw if anyone got some extra gallons of oil i would like to buy or trade for other material.

So mostly wood, steel, glass, screws, springs, oil and copper so far, with concrete down the road.
At least there does seem to be some method to the scrap madness so that's nice :steamhappy:
