What's with the vendor caps limit?
I was playing this game like FO4, and was looting literally everything, scrapping junk, and eventually selling everything else that are useless, but after a bit, I am now stopped by the vendor with zero caps, there was another vendor, a bot, but that one also has zero caps, shared budget for all vendors? Game is really an annoying "filled with handicaps", inventory is kinda worse, stims are extremely heavy without the perk, 50 of them weights 35 or so, wth?

But apparel is somehow as light as a feather, a metal helmet is 0.10 weight, while stim is 0.75, good job Todd.

The cap limits are there to help stabilize the in game economy. Same reason why there is a player cap limit of 40000 caps. Without those two limits, there would be no reason to sell things to other players.
Stims weigh so much because they have an actual in game effect, while clothes are purely cosmetic. The game is already easy as is, if you could hold hundreds of stim packs without penalty, there would be literally nothing that could kill you, especially for pvp reasons.
Yeah, PvP isn't too popular, but it's still worth trying to maintain some sort of balance.

I wanted to play like FO4, that's all, hate all the loopy mmo mechanics, Todd should've just released a single player game, this is just an abomination...

You need Fallout first but you can then make a custom world with rules that make it very much like Fallout 4.
im not giving more money to this game, either find some way to play it, or just drop it

don't know what you'll do with caps after certain point , but you can alvays try selling items to players , caps also return with 1/3 ratio to npc on transactions.

buy bullks of resources and store them for quests & maintaining equipment.

or just go play more suited games for you.

Wow, that is really stupid... This game has like the most lacking broken game economy I've ever played, and you're saying they put it that way on purpose?

I still don't get why there's a minimum price that I have to set when I put things in my vendor. I can't sell things at a reasonable price, thus the other players don't want my stuff (or can't buy it) and the NPCs pay terrible prices for everything. So, basically, everything is worthless because unlike even fallout 1, there's no functional barter system.

On a related note, since fallout 76 is set a in 2102 and the bombs drop in 2077 (so anyone older than 25 was alive pre-bombs), why are we using caps in the first place? Why not pre-war money or a barter system?

Fallout lore , to explain it plainly those where not in production anymore and where hard to fabricate so had fixed value at some point by comunity leaders.
there is a lot of videos regarding that universum on yt so if you'r interesed go and spend some good time listening.

as for pricing that is sugested price that can be even set at 1 cap per item , but yes , it's very hard to sell things outside npc shops.

There is no minimum price at your vendor. you can sell stuff for any price you want (including 0 caps)
To put it simple, you just can't compare Fallou4 (SP) with Fallout 76 (MMO / online), there are things that's just not possible in Fallout 76. Basic example: VATS in Fallout 3 the enemies stop moving in VATS, in Fallout 4 enemies move slowly in VATS and how would you do that in an online game?

My point: always realize thats thing is a SP game can not always be implemented in an online game some things have to modified.

Caps in this game is a thing that is probably the easiest to get, it's more harder to spend it. I constantly run with max caps and when i do? I buy tons of junk in WhiteSpring and if i'm on max caps again? Then also again i buy tons of junk.

That sounds very nice, but My vendor has a minimum. The minimum is based on the item type. Some are 0, but it's not all of them.

I've found that items like daily quest currency have a minimum of 0, while ammo can't be less than 2 per, with some get much higher. The plans often have higher minmums, as do some of the medical supplies. I'd have to look each one up, but with how stingy the game is with caps, it makes no sense that I'm also hindered in how low I can price things when selling to other players.

The ammo is the one that really bugs me. In typical fallout, I tend to play melee/unarmed and use the ammo as a source of income. NONE of the npcs will buy my ammo and I don't think the vendor minimums are reasonable. I'd be happy selling most ammo at 1 cap per, since it's easy to acquire and I just don't use it.

hmm...Might be a charisma thing. My character's charisma is very low.

Then there is something wrong with your vendor because you can chnge to the price from 0 to 40k caps there is no minimum. Or are you thinking the first price that pops up is the minimum because that pric can be lowered

There comes a time at some point in this game that CAPS mean nothing, Bullion means nothing, Atoms mean nothing and Stamps mean nothing. Now I am working hard and soon Tickets will mean nothing. So-your I want I want I want I'm not paying Means Nothing. Iwish my Big Mac tasted like and was as big as a triple WHOPPER but it ain't gonna happen when your shopping at ARBY"S.
