Good Heavy Weapon?

Getting back into the game and trying to find a good Heavy Weapon to use.
Right now I have "The Final Word" .50 Cal and a Gauss Minigun with Anti-Armor
I know the Bloodthirsty mod is good, but would there be a particular weapon type to go for? Saw some say Plasma Gatling but not 100% sure

Holy fire is something good to work toward, Its a special flamer and if you can get it with the Vampire mod then its even better

vampire minigun shredder and you can turn your brain off while you play

Tbh though a lot of the best weapons are only good because of the build used with them.

I like running with a bloodied build, I'm using the ultracite gatling laser and I like it a lot. I'm trying to unlock the Gauss Minigun as it looks real fun too.

Seen a few folks using flamethrowers with blue fire.
dont know if I've seen the event pop for it though

you having a gauss minigun with anti-armor is a decent choice to start with. use perk cards that increase damage on explosives and heavy weapons for a solid two damage applications on an enemy all at once

Gatling Plasa is a very powerful one, both in VATS and bodyshots. It has light and very cheap ammo, especially compared to Gauss Miniguns.

Light Machine Gun is stronger than chunky 50 cal (50 cal DMG is a joke). Use it all the time, my fav is vampire+explosive. Barely usable in vats due to 50 AP per shot cost.

Any Cremator or Plasmacaster SHRED in Vats. Cremator packs a very powerful explosion with a decent range, Caster has superior range and extremely abundant ammo.

Gatling Lasers are fine, "+25 Attack speed second star+Charging barrel" combo packs a punch. For some reason you cant use stimpacks while firing Gatlasers,even in PA - primary reason I avoid them

Gatling Gun (with a crank) is a solid weapon. Cheap, powerful and reliable.

God tell me about it.. the 2mm ECM weighs a ton
If I have 12000 rounds for the gun, I'm carrying an extra 40 pounds just for ammo

Been server hopping the past hour but ain't seen one popped yet
Been also browsing player shops but have to admit, with all the new players, which is awesome, it does tend to make player bases on the map more sparse. Usually see just one base with item stocks tops per server.

Also are all Holy Fires the same cause it's an event reward? Or is it random rolls?

Depends on the build. .50 cal is a good reliable one. If you want to do VATs heavy weapons, plasma caster is a good choice. Ultimately it jsut comes down to damage and how you acquire damage increases.

I see. So I'd want to snag one then in order to reroll them with legendary modules I assume

I'd gladly take one.
I can try to reroll it but can't do that unless I have one to start with lol
May not try for a Gatling Plasma for the moment. The Gauss one I have has +50% Armor pen and +25% Damage when Aiming
It ain't doing the damage I see those stealthy Fixer users are doing, but it rips apart other enemies
