For solo is lone wanderer perk for. Party perks seems to be better.
You get shared perk cards, xp buffs, and shared xp and more loot when doing events with them. And when they complete quests you get a cap or xp bump.
if you want to do your own thing be sure you join a casual team
Yeah that was one of my worries.
I'm not interested in power leveling as i want to experience the story but i want to get some of the buffs from being part of a group.
My main interest is to join a casual team and then go do my own thing. Visit their camps etc.
Grouping up - What's the downside?
The only downside would be being on a team doing quests when you're not the team leader. Only the team leader gets credit for completing a quest. Anyone else on the team is just along for the ride.
So, when doing quests either be the team leader or do the quests solo.
^^ This!
The stupidity in the Co-Op questing is pretty much so egregious that it alone influences many to not play this game. If 4 party member have the same quest, you have to complete it 4 times separately for everyone to get the same progression.
Hang on can you clarify this please.
Yesterday i played for a few hours as part of a group. I was just following along the main story line and my quest progression appeared to be working.
I think i'm misunderstanding what you are saying though.
If 4 people are trying to complete the same quest at the same time, only the leader can actually progress. You have to rotate each party member to leader to get them the same progression. This will be most evident when trying to enter quest related buildings. Expeditions and DailyOps are like events, not questing.
I encourage you to try it with anyone you can. Verify you both have the same uncompleted quest, goto the related buildings, and you will see you can enter as leader, enter to support the leader or go in Solo for your own progression.
