I'm only like 90% sure I get what you're saying... is it a good thing or bad thing to you? lol.
like 95+% of my personal library supports ultrawide, so I don't get the big deal over it, its just another resolution/aspect ratio that people might be using. also, on topic, this game works just fine on my 21:9, so I dunno what OP is on about.
With few exceptions (like a dozen?) most of my games that don't support 21:9 are 10 years old or more. I have 1300 games (thanks humblebundle)... and I've at least tried to play 65% of my games. lol.
a) they only came out about 10 years ago. When I first got mine, 3440 or ultrawide wasn't even on the survey results.
b) its slowly increasing, though not by much. It was around 2% last I checked during lockdown.
c) How much of the Steam Survey population actually buy and play any games? And how many just stick to either free to play, or just Fortnite and CS GO?
Half?
So what percentage of the actual F76 playerbase is on Ultrawide? Could it be 6+ percent?
Of the people who actually purchase games at release at/near full price, my *guess* is that Ultrawide users make up 10+ percent. Due to this monitor aspect ratio being used by more affluent players. Therefore Devs should not ignore this aspect ratio.
Anyway, I've not had any issues with this game on 3440/1440.
You seem like a very smart person that understands how much work is required to support modern gaming monitors. I hope we never have to do without your helpful insight.
Are you guys sure you're not just looking at the standard HUD and just going "it's fine?" Because that HUD "IS" actually ultrawide.

What isn't ultra wide is the other menus that lock your character in place, like looking into containers, dialogue, or crafting.

If the main HUD was actually still 16:9 it probably wouldn't bother me so much, but because they HALF did it in ultraawide is very jarring, and it's not like you can deliberately force the HUD to be 16:9. It constantly goes between 16:9 and ultrawide.
Like I said in the other post, they clearly CAN and HAVE made the UI ultrawide for several years now, so it's not like they can't do it. They just won't implement it all the way. No clue why.
the UI going to the edges is not the game feeling "Stretched out", to me that implies the visuals are stretched. your screenshots looked fine to me...
should have been more specific. lol.
anyway, yeah games should allow you to adjust the UI, I usually bring the UI in a bit in games that let me. would be nice, but I'm not butthurt over it. Game looks great on my oled 21:9.
The 1st and 3rd screenshot are how it SHOULD be. The 2nd one is UI being stretched out. So yes, the GUI is 16:9 but the Game World Graphics are actually all correct.
