AMD GPU Performance & FPS
1. Change "iPresentInterval=1" to "iPresentInterval=0" in Project76Prefs.ini
Location: C:\Users\<your_username>Documents\My games\Fallout 76

2. Setup AMD adrenaline for Fallout76
AMD Fluid Motion Frames => Enabled
Radeon Anti-Lag => Enabled
Radeon Boost => Enabled
- Maximum Resolution Change(%) => 16.7 (Increase for more performance)
Radeon Image Sharpening => Enabled
- Sharpness(%) => 20

3. Change your ingame graphics to your liking
Lower graphics if you want to increase fps.
Tip: 1440p vs 1080p ingame resolution will have a big impact on fps. Game doesn't run well in 1440p, most likely because of console port.

Game is feeling smooth for me at ultra with everything set to max. I'm using 6800 XT.

6800XT is overkill in terms of what the game requires, however, the game wont necessarily run better than on an older gpu as it's missing optimization.

Me with a 6700 XT 5800x and 32 gb, it's impossible to play with max settings, the game becomes unplayable.

Thanks. I had a hard time getting this game to run well. Will give this a go tomorrow.

thank you for the tips.

i have 6800 XT from AMD and with max settings GPU utilization is low.
FO76 is not well optimized but still run fine for me just like RUST and New World.

The file Project76Prefs is for the MS Store version of the game. What you are looking for is the file Fallout76Prefs for the Steam version. All other instructions are the same

Weird how it's under one drive.

You left out the most important part, the resolution. Even my piece of crap shop PC with a vega 64 and 2700x can still run this game at "max settings" and its playable so long as the resolution is set low enough.

And many don't realise that before the gpu gets involved the cpu has to do its thing and that's usually the cause of low fps in Bethesda games.

Amd fluid motion frames works very well with this game. If you have it that is.

is this for people with very high refresh rate monitors? it's not necessary otherwise and will be a worse experience if not super high refresh rate
