Shareable quest???

Hey guys, long time player of the fallout games but finally decided to give 76 a try after all the positive changes I heard about. I am enjoying it. One thing me and my friend have not been able to figure out yet and I can't seem to find a youtube vid on is shareable quest.
I know there are the event quest that anyone can jump in with. But when "we" tried to do a side quest, solo I think it was....I entered as team leader but my friend didn't have the same progress as I did and had to reenter and start it. So.....my question is, is there a system or certain categories of quest we can do together/share beside the public event ones??? Obviously part of the reason we wanted to play together is to be able to do main quest, side quest etc together...........does 76 not work that way??? Thanks, happy gaming all!!!

When you're teamed with a friend you can only do regular quests as the Team Leader. The other person on the team gets no credit for the quest until he either does it as Team Leader or does it solo.

Edit; They're not quests but, you can both do Expeditions together and you both will get the rewards at the end of each one. The Team Leader will get a few more Stamps but, it ain't much more. *Stamps are a currency in the game that you spend at the Whitespring Refuge with the Giuleppe NPC vendor there. I suggest you Google Fallout 76 Expeditions for all the info.

There are certain original quests that can still be done “teamed”. You will both need to talk to someone, read a terminal, etc. But any quests that require talking to a humanoid NPC are all instanced because player one may make different choices than player two.

Honestly this game could've perfectly been a single player.

But if they did they wouldn't make money with the abundance of cosmetics in the game
