Recommended Bullion plans?
I've got a wee bit saved up and am wondering what I should aim to spend it on? I'm looking more towards useful camp items and less towards armor and weapons stuff, at least for now. I know the Fortune Teller Machine can provide a buff, what else like this can I get?

You can get a lot actually, the bench press for STR boost and such.

However, personally not a fan of these unless for camp decoration purposes - I don't find the buffs overly useful. When I run a melee STR build, I get my buffs from enough sources so that I feel the + from the bench doesn't add that much. If you are minmaxing though, you may have use for these.

If you are invested or willing to invest in "Cola Nut", one of the 2 Nuka Cola collectrons is just worth it in my opinion. Slightly in favour of the regular one.

Regular Cola / Cherry Cola are great alternatives for stimpaks, with the added bonus that it doesn't break your animations because it doesn't have one - so if you run a non power armor build (where it doesn't really matter as stims don't have an animation when wearing one), going Nuka instead of stims is the way to go and can save you in stressful situations where stopping what you are doing to stab yourself can be a problem.

Just one way to think about investing your gold, for sure.

Ohh so the different collectrons collect different stuff? I just assumed they were all junk collector skins, I got the dog one. I will look for this one.

There's a lot of good stuff in there, too much if you're new. Your first target should always be the Secret Service Armor and the mods you'll be using. Buttressed for the defensive boost for limbs and chest, then preferred legs and arms mods, and finally your Jetpack for the chest piece. The T-65 PA is the best PA defense wise, albeit, some of the newer sets come with additional effects that you might prefer and the Hellfire set is free from a certain questline.

After that, I get the other stuff. I don't recommend a NukaCola collectron, Get that from the Atom Shop when it shows up on sale as this will unlock it for all your characters, while buying it with bullion will only get it for THIS character.

Resource collectors are great. If you're anything but an herbivore, get the Radstag Dressing Station. Radstag Redemption is a damage reduction food and Radstag stew is energy damage reduction(amazing combo for the current aliens event), while Grilled Radstag will give you extra carryweight(tho there are better options for this one).

Allies are also recruitable from the settlers at 4k each, but, like the collectrons, consider that if you get them when they're in the Atomic Shop, you can unlock them for ALL characters vs bullion which only unlocks them for THIS character.

Thanks for these tips, I didn’t consider that they’d be for one character. But I am wondering what’s the benefit to having multiple characters in this game? I can unlock every perk on a single character so I don’t need multiple for multiple builds.
If you are interested in secret service armor, WAIT to buy it. It's going on sale at the end of May with Minerva. I've been saving up for it. It will be 25% off. There are sites that show the schedule and items that'll be on sale.

Try having different sets of weapons and possibly armors for 2 or more builds, even with Fallout 1st (which doesn't help with basic stash, only to remove ammo and scrap from it), then you'll see.

Also, if one of those builds is heavy weapons, have fun managing even one other build unless you really minimize your weaponry in terms of different guns.

It's not all that bad, but you *will* encounter trouble if you try to have all those sets for all the play styles.

I have to respectfully disagree.

The added damage reduction isn't worth all that bullion for a new player, there are more useful items to get first, and the scout armors from modus or even fully upgraded combat armor are good for a while.
Plus when you need that extra few % of DR that badly, you are playing wrong anyway.

It's good armor of course, but it's really just a gold dump.

Personal opinion of course.
Also it's one of the most hideous armors I have ever seen in video games and absolutely requires wearing a costume over it.

That is also personal opinion.

To be very honest? SS gear is the 1st you wanna spend your gold bullion on it including the right mods.

honestly haven't spent bullion yet so I can't comment other than the +buff, food, and collectron skins are solid.
