Am I handicapping myself not using Power Armor?
I've never used PA in Fallout games because I enjoy being able to see my character, but in this I'm wondering if I'm just handicapping myself. My current armor is nothing special, just some Urban Scout armor with random legendaries. I do fine most of the time, it's daily ops where I really feel useless, I get one shot by just about every enemy in those things.

No. Some people never use it, some people use it sometimes, and some people are never out of it.

I only use my PA for Nuke drops or soloing really hard stuff in 50+ events that shred my normal armor. I hate how clunky PA is so I just alternate as I need and it doesnt affect my build too much

You need a suit for the Blast Zone Rads some kind of way. Stealth Suit, Hazmat Suit, Power Armor. Otherwise unless you are building to use PA, its not at all a 'need' for the occasions you might use it.

I'm not a power armor guy either. Oddly enough, the couple times I have tried messing with them I always seem to die faster and I don't know why lol :steamhappy:

Been using my T-51b Power Armor mainly for the Events or if a area has high radiation and is full of enemies at the same time and a hazmat suit just is not giving me enough protection.

You can play endgame with or without power armor, there are builds for that.

Power armor builds are more like run and gun gameplay. Commando is more stealth gameplay. Personally I like powerarmor build more, since its alot more tanky.

Power Armor is definately an optional thing, it can certainly make things easier, but once you get some good later tier armor it's nto as noticable, I personally use the Brotherhood Recon armor set when not in my T-51.

Do I need to commit a lot of perks to it if I want to use Power Armor? Or is Power Armor fine without a lot of perks or any perks? I'm pretty happy with my build and don't think I could fit in any PA related perks.

I carry the Excavator Armor around because of the +100 carry weight bonus, great for events like Eviction Notice.

You are handicapped for not using Unyielding Secret Service

I haven't used PA in a single Fallout game, 76 included.

You don't need a single perk for Power Armor. Just carry a set if you need extra defense or are going into a Blast Zone.

That would require being a bloody build. I can’t speak for anyone else. But I don’t play bloodied.

a: half the DOs ignore normal DR.
b: all PA have a 45% damage reduction different from their additional DR.
so even excav can help there, and urban scout isnt endgame anymore but no armor works during decryption
