No. People would go crazy with prices for rare plans and items and only no lifers would be able to afford them.

Just more inflation Vaultie. Printing caps your mind can't cash.
AbsynthMinded May 9, 2024 @ 3:36pm
No. Because it would only bloat prices at the top end, and serve no practical purpose to the 'economy'.

just buy plan at vendors?
if you get all, buy supply - ammo.
or you can use aristocrat set, and not think about caps at all.

you're not looting 40k caps in one event.
and if you're selling stuff for 30k+ at your vending machine, nobody buy that price.

I can't even keep a thousand caps idk how you guys are all on 40k haha. I only buy screws and gears!

Caps have a limited value in this game. While I'd like them to raise it a bit to make Aristocrat's a little realistic to maintain, the cap limit exists for good reason.

There's a 40k cap limit? Bruhhh I'm going to hit that soon, what do I buy?! I'm only level 155, I've only been playing 300 hours, I thought full inventory was my only constant worry. Send help.

I"ve been curious as a newer player, the player vendors, does it max at 40k or is that the max amount we can carry? Does that make sense? I see vendors with over 40k in stuff to sell, what happens when the purchased amount hits 40,001?

Will I just be out of luck? >.> Will it store in my vendor like a bank for me to withdraw from? <.< So many questions.

been asking for this for years, they just won't do it.

You cannot have more than 40k per character. If you are at 39k and sell something for 10k, you only get 1k, the rest poofs forever. No banking, no rollover or holding of the excess, just poof.

And increasing the cap would just raise the prices on the rarer stuff, and the real rare stuff would still be trade only, so there is no real point

Increase it even more? They've already had a few times over the years.

We don't need more caps, we need more things to spend caps ON. There's really only one I know of:

Go to Smiley at the Wayward, providing you finished "Secrets Revealed." He will give you Gold Bullion in exchange for caps, up to 300 gold for 6000 caps per week.

Inflation always cracks me up. Its just a fancy word for greed plain and simple. Shout out to my fellow chads out there selling stuff for 35-500 caps regardless of what the cap limit ever reaches.

Remove your hoarder's instinct. This game is greatly improved by the 40K caps limit, it has a legendarily generous and kind community and that is directly a cause of the fact that you can't hoard unlimited resources you don't need in this game. There is nothing that costs enough to justify needing more than a 40K cap limit.
