yes, but doesnt that mean you have to manually place all the needed stuff in second camp? or you can manage the most basic needs like (crafting stations etc) with blueprints?
give tips, anon. where good spots at.
Camp 1 is built from scratch south of vault 76.
Camp 2 is a pre-fab (wildwood tavern) and located just south of the Whitespring mall on the golf course.
I use my camps for just a few things really. Storage, crafting, repair and playing guitar. I have no crops. I have a vault but there's nothing in it, it's just for hitting daily and weekly challenges.
Both camps have vendors and all craffting benches plus a punch card.
Both are modest in scope and ambition, but they are home.
- If first CAMP is taken, you have second CAMP. You just switch instead of server hop.
- Put CAMP in more visible area for vendor selling
- Setup CAMP near your points of interests (for free travel and extra easy access to some places - like train stations)
- Prepare farm focused camp (water, crops - adhesive) etc
- Pretty CAMP to showoff
Depends on what you're looking for. If you google "Fallout 76 interactive map", you'll get a link to a website with a map you that has farming locations for every type of ore pinned to it. There's a menu on the side to show/hide almost everything on the map. I rather not say where my 2 farming spots are exactly, at this point they're rarely ever taken by other people and I prefer to keep it that way.
Currently my "main" camp (meaning the one I use most frequently) is near the lumber mill just south of 76. I'm finally happy with the location and layout, so I'll probably keep it there for a while.
As for "best" places to put camps, that's down to personal preference really. The flattest places are at Whitesprings (which is a popular spot for a lot of people) or along some of the roads. Don't build near the Wayward, everyone does that so the chances of your spot being taken every time you log in is pretty high. Any of the lakes/rivers dotted around, those are good places. I avoid the toxic zones but that's for aesthetic reasons.
Absolute best places, in my opinion, if you're setting up a vendor camp: Any place that's very close by to a free fast travel point. People are more likely to not want to spend caps hopping to your camp, so if you put one near Foundation, Fort Atlas, the Crater (etc etc), you're more likely to get traffic to your vendor.
We can have multiple CAMP on the map?
You can have multiple camps, but only one active at a time.
Camp 1, "Our Martyred Lady" is a nice blacksmith cabin (from the atomic store) in the mountains, south of Top of the World's train station. Its right next to a small lake (not the one right next to the train station, its further away) surrounded by a cliff and trees. The small lake even has a little boat. Its really well decorated and cozy. I've been praised for it multiple times already despite only been playing for a month.
Camp 2, "Bloody Rose", its north of Watoga city, occupying a small island surrounded by a river on all sides. The camp spaces fits exactly so that it covers the whole island, making it very easy to defend. It has two natural wood bridges (one destroyed). The camp has a more military camp theme (2 barracks from the atomic store as well). It also has a silver resource, if you want to find it on the map.
Not planning on moving them, perfect locations. Would like to get two additional camps. One fully customizable building instead of using pre-built houses/barracks. The other to use as a mobile camp with just one tent and little more. Not fan of vaults to use as camps. I do like the mine my brother bought though, but I missed the opportunity to get it.
