Fallout 76
Is it considered griefing to nuke another player's base?
I ask because my base is in the savage divide, east of the center-ish, and is near -nothing- of interest. No grinding spots, no points of interest, not even anywhere near Monongah Mine... So why did someone drop a nuke DIRECT CENTER on my vendor base's location? Should I report the guy who did it for griefing?

Nuking and getting nuked is a game feature:
The whole server gets a warning several minutes beforehand with a text pop-up, air raid sirens goin off, blast zone marked on the map, the quest "Death from Above" starting and a robotic voice telling you to leave the area as soon as possible.

There is even an achievement for getting nuked the first time at ground zero.

You have plenty of time to pack up and switch to your other C.A.M.P. to prevent destruction.
Or to move to a different server (which you would probably do anyway, because the nuke blast zone will persist for 2 hours.

Since no one mentioned it, there is a reason to nuke the center of the map... unless it's been patched
That has been patched.
are you serious just find a new server you should be server hopping frequently anyways when you are grinding challenges
It may seem cruel but since nuking Actually *is* a game feature that devs expect players to use for its intended purpose (Nuking a selected Area) then i wouldn't say its "Griefing". If you could prove somehow that they were following you server to server and then they were nuking you repeatedly non-stop, Then that would be considered Griefing or more so "harassment" at that point really

It costs barely anything to rebuild/repair a base that is nuked.

But what do you mean? Do you have any idea how hard is to find 3 Steel, 2 Cloth and 1 circuitry?
WHAT ABOUT ALL MY MUTFRUIT??!?!?

Seriously, to the OP, there may be nothing of interest when it's clean, but you might be sitting in a zone that is a rich nuke-harvesting zone - either a lot of enemy spawns for the masses/fluids or some of the more rare fluxes. Mid-Savage Divide means Cobalt - are you near a lot of Firecracker Berries and/or Tree Sap?
Nuking your base - probably an accident. Or lack of care/expectation for you to move your CAMP before the nuke hits. If it happens come here; forum members will likely come join a team with you and help you rebuild; or offer scrap to do so or good routes to quickly replenish your resources. Moving your CAMP to another spot entirely is the best advice if you can't move it in time for a nuke.

Nuke Griefing a single player - *This is defined as repeatedly nuking a specific player, usually as often and as much as possible - essentially a Denial of Service attack but in-game, utilizing Bethesda's own game mechanics. I don't think this is possible with the current mechanics. You'd have to plan ahead of time, find the location of all of the users CAMPS, also ensuring you have someone covertly on their friend's list to port into their game should they hop servers or go private. And then it would be a one off.

Around launch "era" and shortly after (NW era) this was much easier for them to exploit/hack and they could assign nuke drops anywhere on the map (and more nukes than should be able to be dropped). The mechanics just don't permit for it anymore.

Nuke griefing the player base in general - Aiming specifically for player camps without farming, or aiming for areas that aren't beneficial to farm from while hitting camps habitually is a known form of griefing. Yes, its reportable, though you won't necessarily have results. Technically a player or group can pull this off with PvP aims completely legit, in which case arguing their cause will probably win. But it's more likely someone doing this is also utilizing an exploit in some way - in which case yes, that report is a wonderful thing for the game and player base.

I think it is a cool feature because i nuked peoples base once for overpricing items but yeah u can move your base or change camp slot u have 2 minutes warning.
Can your stuff even get nuked when in pacifist mode?

Last I checked, yes. This is a feature. Nukes are tied to the games lore and "end game". They included team play for the achievement, previously, to make it optional to launch or not (for those of us obsessively anti-bomb crazies to still enjoy the game - I know, we're far out). It's something to expect a possibility of accidentally occurring as a hazard of the game theme/environment.

u can also die if u stand in nuke zone pacifist or not players are just launching the nukes but not counted as their kills
I mean, it doesn't really matter to me.
I doubt anyone is ever gonna nuke me.
And if it happens, it's not even a big deal anyway.
Easily rectified in a multitude of ways.
The gameloop itself asks more annoying things of us than rectifying a nuked base could ever do.

I really wish there was a count of the people who haven’t made it out of the target area when the nuke hits. I’ve gotten quite a few late FTers, or people who didn’t realize that the red ring is just a suggestion and you might want to be further away.
It's only griefing if they were stuck on the toilet.

No wonder modern gaming is in such shambles.
Mhmhm report for that
mhmhm reported for playing wrong build
mhmhm reported for doing too much damage
mhmhm reported cuz invested too much time on your main char
mhmhmh reported for too much carry
mhmhm reported for playing the game.

can you people like chill with reporting everything on sights ? Go make a nerddit poll and ask your fellow thin skinned colleagues, perhaps they may help you write collective report and perhaps you will speak with fallout 76 manager.
Reported for to much reporting-your'e getting close.
There is no griefing in survival games.

You need to nuke different places to trigger events, or generate rate crafting materials for harvest. If you're not in the noobie zone, you get the benefit of nuclear risk.

It costs barely anything to rebuild/repair a base that is nuked. If someone is trying to troll by nuking bases then they are a sh*tty griefer....like oh my...mildly inconvenienced for 20 seconds and a very small handful of mats to make instant repairs.

My guess is if you got nuked, it was likely to farm specific nuked flora or mats.
This is sort of my take as well. I'm not sure exactly what happened but the day before yesterday I activated my second camp and was updating it for the heck of it. Then yesterday, I activated my main camp and when I went to it it was all jacked up. Walls missing, plants destroyed, decorations outside missing. I went to the camp thing, pressed space button and it was all back in a second.
