there is zero reason why this game wouldn't function offline. There is no feature that requires it. The only gameplay reason to go online is to play with other people, and most people don't even want to do that. It has to do with corporate greed because the actual reason it is persistently online is so they can shove their in-game store in your face as much as possible.

I don't have the time or inclination to explain how incredibly wrong this is. Literally everything you do in this game is being tracked and counted on their servers. The servers that are now down for maintenance. The entire game would cease to function without it being persistently online. If that's not what you're looking for, try Fallout 4 instead of Fallout 76.

Game released October 23rd, 2018. Since then, every maintenance and update period has ALWAYS been on Tuesday. This is nothing new for any online live service game, especially in the MMO variety. 6 years and the maintenance has always taken place starting at the same time on Tuesday. Quit being entitled and do your research into a game before getting angry at something that has existed for 6 entire years and you are too daft to learn anything about it.

This was always intended as an online multiplayer game, if solo offline is what you're looking for I suggest FO4. Servers being down on Tues is the norm with this game, hell even Steam updates on Tues and some of it's functions are unusable for a time. Patience....
