As long as they are not paying for my 1st, they can jog on and stfu.
Mind your own buisness.
Like complementary colors, flavors would be joyless without their contrast. Do we have reason to be all sugar? Online vitriol will kill that real quick. But poisonous attitudes harm everyone; no cyanide in the sugar here, just a little radiation..
The sarcasm is so deep often regular visitors can't even tell if we're being serious or facetious (~75% of the time.) I like it better that way. Plus, the users that layer meanings are entertaining content - bonus hilarity when it's entirely accidental.
Long Answer: Today's gamers feel they are entitled to everything for free simply because their mommies and daddies had some unprotected fun time and they were born. This is the same lot that think they can walk into a car dealship as an "influencer" and should get a free Tesla by paying with "exposure".
As you said, MMO subscriptions to finance continued content and updates has been a standard for as long as MMOs have existed, and rightfully so. If they didn't, every gaming company that offers live services, not just Bethesda, would be bankrupt within a year due to server costs alone.
But they can attack unknown third parties (Bethesda) because they continually make money for their regular updates and innovations.
Every move costs money! All around the world! Setting up servers, maintaining them, installing updates etc. pp.
All time that needs to be invested. And every halfway normal person knows: time = money.
Bethesda didn't start out as an aid organization, it's a company that only has one goal: make provit. Just like every other company in the world.
Instead of flaunting your apparent poverty through whining posts, I would just keep my mouth shut.
And no, it is NOT pay to win! I do NOT get any better weapons through my subscription. I am NOT more resistant to harm because of the subscription. The only thing I get from it: I can show that I have it ;)
Holy moly!
And with so many of them shutting down left and right it's only a matter of time before Fallout 76 falls under the game preservation controversy too.
Fallout 76 is an online only game and everything you did and wasted money on will be taken away, eventually.
Fallout 4 is a far superior game in every which way and nothing can be taken from you. There are no servers, it can't be shutdown. You can't be banned. Can't be hacked. There is no lag. Can play it on a laptop or steam deck in the middle of nowhere without internet. Don't need to waste money on trivial stuff like ammo, inventory space, in game money etc.
Brilliant monetization though, makes perfect business sense to take advantage of players who are aware of none of the above. Keep spending money on furniture and skins rofl ;)
Imagine seething over $12 lmao!
Unless we ARE aware and just value different things than you do. I don't have to be ignorant of reality or intentionally live in a fantasy world to prefer to play 76 instead of 4, modded or otherwise. I like playing with other players, I like the fact that there is some degree of accountability (IE that people CAN be banned if they cross a line), I like that there are changes and updates, and I am willing to pay my small part to help keep all that alive. I am also very happy for the people who can't be bothered and would rather play 4 for free, and I don't have to pretend something is wrong with them because they don't like what I like.
They have offline Fallout games.
They're called Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, Fallout tactics, and a TBA Fallout 5. And that's not counting the Fallout Pinball or Fallout Mobile Game either.
Sorry that 1 Fallout game in the 11 Fallout games released, wasn't 100% how you wanted it.
I will thanks :D
It's not. If you can't tell the difference between games like Diablo, Destiny, Fallout 76, GTA Online and WoW, FFXIV, ESO then you probably think Rocket League and Tekken 8 are mmos too xD
