Anyone know the reason lat 2-3 am this morning we had server shut down and now its down again? thanks for the replies, have a great one!

Individual servers have a finite amount of time they can be up and the more people on them, the more nukes launched, the more activity hosts, the server can get glitchy. Once it hits a specific threshold of activity and errors, it will go into shutdown mode. Giving you the “30 minutes to shutdown ticking clock” in the upper right.

That does not mean the entire game is going down, it means that specific server is going down. Just return to the main menu and join another world. If the entire game is completely being taken out of service, a message will be on the main game menu when you log in every day, as well as special the launcher.

Whole game shutdowns/patches always happen on a Tuesday Morning Eastern US time.

I'm only playing since a bit more than a week and could already tell that servers that are low pop tend to shut down eventually, signaling with an alleged maintenance.
You can often tell by just switching server and wait for a notification to pop up.
If it doesn't, the aforementioned happened.

BizarreMan is essentially correct. They are rebooting a local Node which Syncs to the main Server Cloud.

Yes indeed, from time to time i see messeges like that i have 15min to leave the current server and to need to hop to another world. And exactly as you say tyhe game is still up only a specific world / server needs a maintenance.
