Do you use power armor?
I've always been a stealth enjoyer and so never used power armor, but someone just gave me a suit randomly and it has a jetpack which is pretty fun to use so now I'm suddenly reconsidering whether I want to use power armor or not or continue to be a stealth enjoyer. Do you guys like to use power armor?

For the most part no I dont, in fact I tried REALLY hard to make a set of secret service armor that could withstand a nuked zone, sadly with out the 'hidden' radiation dmg reduction of a power suit, hazmat or the chinese stealth suit I still have to eat radaway like its candy.

Worth noting that there are jet packs for the secret service armor and the brotherhood armor sets, so you CAN still rocketman your heart out with out power armor.

I find stealth to be far more fun than power armor. I carry power armor just in case I may need it, but rarely wear it. I'm good to go with Chinese Stealth Armor, flamer as my main weapon and fixer when I want distance. That may change in the future, but it has lasted the last 50 levels.

Yeah, its not just the 1000 or so radiation resistance they have, its the hidden 90% reduction in radiation the power armor, hazmat suit, and stealth suit have as well.

Yep, mainly in a rad zone or for a shortcut when I'm over a cliff (handy for that).

Yeah sucks too, I mean I have like five hundred radaway on me right now but its still annoying sucking them back like, every 20 seconds considering the massive amount of time I went into getting absolutely every +rad resist option I could. :steamsad:

I used the chinese stealth armor foreeeever and even later was swapping to it in nuked zones, but lacking legendary options gets reaaaaaaally annoying later especially when swapping to it means losing all my reduced weight of chem/food/drink and going from 240 something weight to 1.2k lol.

Moving around, easier fights - no. I like the extra speed and I can carry more (I don't know how that works tbh). And it seems to be easier to get the materials to repair SS. Plus the costumes.

However in the tough areas you need it, especially if solo because no-one is coming to help you.

But when you carry it, the extra weight is just 10 whatever the unit of measure is - afaik.

I dont use it because it annoys me how you have to step out of it for a lot of actions like cooking.
got mine at level 20 and haven't looked back. power armor is almost mandatory for higher level stuff.....i found anything below 20 you can do with out a suit NP, once u get to 20 things SEEM(imho) to power up more then they should

There are several perk cards that only work without power armor, these are there specifically for those that dont want to use PA (Barbarian, Evasion, Serendipity, ironclad, ect ect) - unfortunately it takes a lot of time to get them all together and they gobble up slots but you can get pretty tanky.

I like power armour a lot and use it all the time. I have a heavy weapon build and the fusion core recharger from the Pitt DLC so there are no real downsides.

Yup perks plus one of the bullion armours will make you very tanky.

This is why you can have multiple characters, to make specialists. Only issue... It's not easy to swap gear between them.

They've got different "build" slots, so I've dabbled.

Normally I just run around punching and cannibalizing things without regard to stealth or armor.

But the power armor is nice in events, since the enemy seems to be "balanced" by having more damage and resistances, not better tactics... The armor is somewhat mandatory, I feel, for this not very well balanced events.

Recently, soloed a daily op with a subpar broadsider + Excavator build. I did eventually win. 32 minutes, with the final boss being bashed to death because I was out of ammo... But my unarmored build wouldn't have lived vs that opponent long enough to do any damage. And the daily op "mutation" was that the enemy was invisible while not attacking and could innately pierce stealth.

Is this dlc something that needs to be paid for?

That particular fusion core recharger was part of a pack of items which does cost real money. Or did cost real money, as I don't think its available anymore. There is a fusion core recharger available in the Atomic Store, however. You can earn Atoms while playing the game, or spend real money for them.
