This is sad
Always heard the game was meh but picked it up on sale but can't even get past character creation.

Game crashes when I go into photo mode but the real kicker is that the mousewheel slider during character creation doesn't even work. So i'm stuck with a char I don't even like

Wtaf Bethesda?

you can change your appearance in game for free.

The thing is... the slider for moving certain parts of your face doesn't work and hasn't for a very long time apparently. So if I can't customize the char how I want why would I?

The slider only goes one way and can't be adjusted the other way. Using mouse wheel doesn't do anything and plugging in a controller doesn't do anything either.

Bethesda has been aware of this bug but hasn't done anything to fix it.

Go edit your char and make his nose real big with the mouse wheel slider then try and make it smaller again see what happens

it isnt broken, just a bit fiddly to get used to. you can remake in game. just get in there lol

It flat out is broken as there is no way to decrease the slider from 100 if its at max already.

Can't progress past photo mode when taking a pic for my vault card cause it crashes every time

No idea about crashing, but you can customize your character with a controller plugged in. Incredible they haven't fixed this issue. Tried the game over a year ago and it was exactly the same.

I tried the controller method and still can only increase the slider with the d-pad and it won't go the other way. Apparently this bug was introduced in the Wasteland update and hasn't been fixed lol

What controller are you using? I just tried the controller method (on an 8bitdo Pro 2), and it actually worked, to my surprise, lol. I tested both initial character customization, and on my existing level 50.

I have an xbox one controller as well, I could try that out if that's similar to what you're using (I just gotta find some batteries, lol).

I am using an Xbox Elite controller and a Ps4 scuff controller. It may work once I'm out of the vault to edit the char but I crash when I go to take a photo of my char at the beginning
