I don't know of, or run any mods on 76, but this is one game best played on console. You get better performance per dollar. You have to overspend/overbuild to beat the console version.
This isn't me fanboying on Todd or Bethesda, I have actually grown to dislike both in the past few years. I just put in 1000+ hours in both games and have seen enough to compare properly.
Todd isn't 'wrong' he just doesn't know what he's talking about so things end up out of context. For example the "16 times the details" is as far as I know about the shadow draw distance. Todd's mistake was in not explaining that properly.
Since Starfield released I went back and read and watched a lot of old Todd interviews and stage apperances. The one thing that stood out was he often spoke BS, using conversational tactics often used by narcissistic politicians (reminded me a lot about our last Prime Minister, Scott Morrison for anyone in the know). There was a lot of deflection and constant talking to try look smart.
It is a man trying to talk to a 3rd party about something he doesn't fully understand himself. I'm sure one of the actual programmers told him about something that he only understood the surface details, he doesn't hit the keyboards these days. This is why we end up with such memes as "16 times the details" and "It just works" because it is from a 3rd party trying to inform another 3rd party, just like that children's game.
If only he had humility and could say "I don't know" once in a while... Yet, somehow people like that still have charisma and followers. The world truly is a puzzling place...
