Mothman Equinox Heads Up

As of the 29th of March 2024, the Mothman Equinox rewards are bugged.

How the bug is happening: If the event is completed successfully, it assigns a random reward to the player, but if you have already learned the plan/reward, you receive nothing, instead of an alternative reward.

Learning the plans reduces your chances of obtaining any rewards, so it's advised to wait until the event is over on the calendar before reading any plans.

However, most of the plans are tradeable so you can swap the duplicates for rewards that you don't have.

tl;dr version.

If you learn a plan that you don't know, then it can be several successful events later before another reward drops for you. Further on this bug, apparel won't drop for you unless you learn all the plans from the event first, which is advised against.

I'm new to 76, 1000's of hours in other Beth games. I bought it on sale ages ago but never tried it as I heard the stories about griefers. I'm primarily a rpg'er and scenery modder. I've been to the "Moth Ball" a few times hoping to eventually earn enough bullion to get secret service armor. I got a few treasury notes the first 2 times but nothing since. Maybe due to this bug?

The crazy part for me is that I have received 6 PA torsos and 3 SS chest pieces in the last few days, what seems to be randomly. But in hindsight it might be delayed notifications. I have no use for them as I don't use PA and I bought a SS chest piece already. So I have 4 legendary X-01, 2 Excavator and 3 SS pieces at no cost to me, while I'm scrounging around in a hazmat suit in the bog trying to find materials to make flux.

Crazy because it's taken away the challenge of figuring it all out and earning it myself. Free torso pieces filling my stash up yet I can't afford to buy just the other SS plans. I guess the prizes are what players want.

I also have acquired enough gold and silver to sink a galleon but they are next to useless.

But I'm having a great time chasing cryptids around in the bog, more often than not fleeing for my life which is just as much fun.

I was pretty annoyed when I realized this. However you just need an Equinox event without too many high levels. Then it's easy to kill ten Cultists in one event. After I got my ten, I started hitting them for just 90% of their health, so others could finish them off.
