Additionally, if you are attempting to bring this to Bethesda's attention so they will make a change. Remember, they never monitor the steam boards. You will need to go to the official bethesda discord, their website, or their sub-reddit.

On top of not needing it it's also very, very ugly. From what I understand it may also have real life political affiliations, which I absolutely do not want in my video games.
This is why I'm trying to get rid of its notification to pick it up.
What do you do when you encounter someone displaying these "ugly" flags and icons?
It's in the game, it stays in the game, and you claiming them or not does not remove them from the game world for you so you don't see them.
Since you claim you "absolutely do not want" that in your video games, you are out of luck and have only one option if true:
Uninstall. Because there will be people showing you things you do not want in your video game.
You don't have to agree with them,
you don't have to like them,
you don't have to even think of them; IF you just claim it.
It's been 4 years and the only time I ever remember that its in the game is if some guy cries about it, or if someone places it in a camp.
If I could delete it I would, I don't want it, I will never place it, I don't want to see it. Yet I pay no mind to it, and you should to.
Unless you are very active with building your camp then youll see it every time you are in your camp build menu hunting for what you are looking for. Thats another thing, too much clutter, Ive been in game since the beta, and I have so many camp items open to me that it takes for ever to find what I am looking for as they dont tend to place some items where they logically should be. I can get the point of not cluttering the camp build menu as mine is quite cluttered from all the free crap that I have obtained that I will never use.
As far as seeing them in game itself, honestly Ive yet to see one of those flags in someone`s camp. The only time Ive seen the flag is as a player icon only because the player didnt know it was their icon and didnt change it, can confirm this by visiting their camp and see they dont have the flag placed in their camp. I highly doubt someone would have the icon on purpose and not purposefully place the flag in camp.
For me the flags I see in camps are the US flag, the BOS flag, and the meatweek flag.
The only 'solution' is to remove yourself from the game. Don't like the content, don't play. Simple.
Oh look the child is back slinging petty insults totally ignoring what the question is being asked, re-read the question guy is not asking for the content to be removed hes asking for the notification to be removed for unclaimed items.
I fail to see how that is a hypocrite, but then again you seem like someone that use words that they dont know the meaning behind.
because everyone wants internet points. for some reason cancelling people because they have their own opinion is cool and fun.
the only thing i can think of is to send bethesda a support ticket on their website. asking to remove the flag from your account specifically. or just hiding it for you. if it makes you that uncomfortable then tell the agent(s) that.
