Private Adventure / Custom Worlds
Does anyone know if a custom world is persistent now? What happens to the player created buildings after I log out?

I’m assuming you mean workshops? No, they are not persistently owned and developed.

The public custom worlds rotate and any progress is reset when BGS activates the next world in the rotation.

With Fallout 1st you import one of your characters to your own custom world, the world is linked and its progress stays as long as you do not unlink the character from your custom world. If you reimport your adventure-mode character in your custom world the progress in the custom world is lost. There is a limit of ~ 5 linked custom words.

No progress carries over to the adventure mode except SCORE points. So you can create a custom world with free crafting and high stash/camp budget to chesse the daily tasks.

In my experience, if you want to leave the game for a bit and take a break - you can leave the private world and come back to it later. As for workshops, they will disappear right away UNLESS you have a friend who stays behind while you leave the world. Honestly not much persistence besides the potential of recalling an old world in terms of cleared hostile enemies, locations, etc. All and all, this game has a fairly generous AFK time and I suspect that it is even longer on a private world. Just try to post at a good spot like sitting on the bench at the train station or sleeping in a bed. I've made a whole pot of coffee, went outside did whatever, made food, etc and I was not disconnected for idle.

I've run into the issue where in a private world getting DC'd removes all structures at the workshop, not put into storage, just gone permanently. It's getting very expensive to keep enough screws and gears on hand to be able to build the generators every time I log in. I took to deconstructing before I log out, but that doesn't save me from the DC monster.
