Best heavy machine gun ?
Hello, i have alots of build and now i want to create one heavy machine / minigun build.

I have one explosive minigun but damage look really low.

The best one are .50 cal machine gun or the gatling gun ?

And second legendary peark its better rapid fire or explosive ?

I like explosive because more rapide fire = you use more ammo.

But with my minigun my explosive damage look really low 12-14 something like that.

Thank you for your help with my choice. 😄

Explosive isn't adding that much damage and who wants to sink points into the explosive damage perk. It is good on a Vampire 50 cal for tagging enemies with no spin up, same on Vampire minigun the larger ammo capacity is nice but has spin up. Fast fire rate burns up ammo and means more reloading so whatever works for you. Weightless is nice on minigun.

In terms of ammo, fire rate and DPS .50 cal MG is the best choice, Gatling gun is best for beginner since 5mm easy to find and nobody use Minigun as main weapon except to looks cool while using power armor(they usually stop using it until 5mm ammo reserve is dry)

I always want weight less because i dont use the perk strong like a bear in my builds. But thanks for your reply.

The Holy Fire is the best heavy gun that is super easy to get and rocks from the get-go. All you do is add is larger tank and napalm.

If you want the best .50 that is easy to get:
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Final_Word

Get the ally and do his quest line (kinda long, but you can do it in an afternoon) you get it at the very very end after completion.

I will end with this... if you are struggeling, here is a very easy build to strive for:

Also watch ANGRY TURTLE on youtube for the best Fallout 76 content.

No-weapon melee power armor:

Yup, my main gun for a long time. Prime is optional but damage is really high either way.

I personally enjoy AntiArmor more than Aristo

I have a Final Word .50. It's very good but MG's consume a lot of ammo. I also have a Tesla rifle.
50 cal cheap to make ammo hard to control and hit without burst firing it unless your point blank mg 42 hardly any recoil some but not much and its more accurate and can kill faster than the 50 cal but ammo cost more and a way smaller mag.

Ironically, for me the Light Machine Gun.

It's not very newbie friendly though as it eats ammo like crazy if you're not careful, ammo is not that easy to obtain en masse and crafted in relatively low batches - but it's a beast with certain modifiers and is the only gun (IMO) that doesn't look stupid when used by non-PA builds.
