Must have Fix to drastically improve the look of Fallout 76
I always wondered why Fallout 76 looks worse than Fallout 4, with the ugly reflective shine on everything, added with the low-res textures and it really bothered me. So much, that i couldn't enjoy it as much as i could Fallout 4. But thanks to someone great on Reddit and a simple Texture mod from Nexus, those problems are no more and i want to share it, because it helped me so much and i know many feel the same as i did.

First (and, in my eyes, the most important fix) we reduce the ugly shiny look, as if everything is covered in oil or lube!

Part 1

1.For that, you need to create a custom .Ini-File under Documents/My Games/Fallout76/

2. Now copy and insert this text as it is inside it and save. Close the file after that.

[EnlightenDebug]

fEnlightenSkyCubemapScale=0.800500

fSkyCubemapMaxVisibility=1.000000

fSkyCubemapMinVisibility=0.000001

3. Congratulations! The ugly lube is no more!

My thanks to u/redmose on Reddit for that info!

Part 2

Go to Nexus Mods and search for "RE-HD Textures" or follow this
Link[www.nexusmods.com]

This simple texture mod will bring back most higher res textures, that got downsized after the Wastelander Update.

Hope this helps others as it did for me! Have fun gaming! :VBCOOL:

Fallout 4 is singleplayer, whereas Fallout 76 is a MMO. I can't think of any MMO that looked on par with singleplayer titles from around roughly the same time period.

Remember when Anarchy Online or Conan first came out and only the 1% could run those games smoothly. Good times.

It's not an MMO. it's an online game, but not an MMO.

Call of Duty has larger lobbies than F76, is CoD an MMO? No.

Fallout 76 is NOT a MMO, but a MULTIPLAYER

Fallout 76 also uses the same (bit modified) Engine as Fallout 4 and shares most Textures with it.

I feel like the online requirement, cash shop and the subscription are features that tend to be exclusive to MMOs, so it's understandable that people mistake these.

What's another non-MMO that requires players to be always online, features a cash shop, and subscription? Especially one where you also have to purchase the base game?

And why, again, does it not qualify as MMO?

Because of the amount of players in a server. I mean, thats the whole part of an MMO.

todd sure loves when you call his game massive though. :)
Side note: You forgot to mention that you use mods at your own risk, some people use it for many years some (i know a few unfortunately) will be perma banned for having mods.

I've never seen anything in all of nexusmods about getting a ban for a mod. And lets be honest, people would be quick to FLOOD the posts over there if the mod got them banned.

So chalk you up to fear mongering.

Never heard of any bans due to mods in any Mod related Site. Maybe some Kind of Hacks, bur simple Client sided mods wont risk a ban at all

Do what you want with mods my friend, if you read Bethesda's policy then you know it's not allowed. I seen people perma banned for using simple mods.

I do mod many games i have but not this one, put to much effort in on this account over the years.

Glad mate you never heared of it, since Bethesda is MS now they even ban more people for it.

But no worries i'm not the person to tell you what to do then only a fair warning and it is up to you what to do with it ;)
