Questions about the Gauss Rifle?
Just acquired one from an event and am thinking about using it. Does the rifleman perks effect it? What about Gunsmith perks? Is the plan worth the 3.5k to buy from vendor or should I farm it somewhere? Any general tips you can give about this weapon and potentially making it stronger are welcome!

The Rifleman & related perks do work but keep in mind that it is a energy weapon and not ballistic despite handling like a ballistic weapon. So the science perks will help with damage. Treat it like a sniper rifle and you'll do fine.

Also all gauss weapons have explosive ammo by default so Demolition Expert and Grenadier perks work with them too.

Ohhh, sounds like it can be turned into quite the weapon then.

Yes, gauss rifles are very good sniper guns. Get the plan and craft & scrap them to learn the mods, vendor bots can have some mod plans and box mods too.

The Gauss Rifle benefits from all Rifle related perks, all 3 Science perks because it is also an energy weapon, AND Demolition Expert to increase explosive damage, as well as Grenadier to increase explosion Radius.

2mm ECC is also energy ammo, so while Bandolier doesn't apply, Batteries not included does, which also reduces the weight of your fusion cores.

So, yeah, the gauss rifle is pretty badass.

I hardly have perks to support it and I already like it a lot. Just melted a pink Deathclaw :lis_steph:

Only issue so far is the sights seem off, or is it not accurate? I put a dot sight on it and when I aim at the head, I'm rarely hitting my shots, I have to aim at the enemies torso to actually hit them consistently.

Edit: I think I noticed what's happening, the sight lowers when I hold to charge, so if I correct and aim higher, I end up shooting above my target.
