pros/cons of each Starting Level Option?
Just came back to FO76 after a few years and wanted a fresh restart as my old build was beyond scuffed and I'd rather just start anew anywho. I don't mind playing thru low level stuffs, but also dont really care if I skip some of it too. Do y'all have any opinions or things to share on the matter??? Am I better off with the lvl 20 starting level, or is it still worth going with the OG lvl 2 start??

My main is 204. Makes no sense to start over, IMO.
There's a lot of grind especially for ammo.
If you start at 20, you don't have a lot of ammo and other mess you've been hoarding for 20 levels, no caps saved for questing and what not.
Repairing gear takes junk and losing 20 levels of it is going to add to the grind suck big time.
Even with Lunchboxes and other things that give a temp XP buff and grouping you have to wait for others and if they want you to tag taking up space and being an easy kill.

I LOATHE grouping and PVP.
I think you do have several Perk Card packs but 76 is so RNG heavy.

All depends if the lvl 20 stuff has a build you want, or if ya want to make a build from scratch. Only real benefit with level 20 is guaranteed inspirational at lvl 2 for team boosted exp, so its all down to your preference.

I would, and did 5 characters, starting at lev. 1, and enjoyed the story all over again, and missed some stuff along the way. Game got easier as I went along, as I knew what to expect then and for me, became actually easier and enjoyable.

Honestly, you can really do a lot to maximize your XP gains without even really trying. I'd say that with very little effort you could easily go from level 1 to 20 in a few days or less. And once you hit level 20 the jump from that to level 50 seems even faster since you have a solid grasp if the games mechanics. I think me and my son went from level 1 to 50 in about a week. So for my two cents I'd say whether you start at level 1 or level 20 it doesn't really matter. Personally, if I ever make another character, I'd probably start at level 1 because those early levels are usually the most fun for me in any RPG.

The level 20 option is there if you only care about the quest content as that is the lock out level for some quests.

That is what it is there for, the lazy or time poor players.

Yep, level 20 and Run out of the Vault and go to see the Overseer and move on.

There is no lockout level

My humble opinion.
First character start at the bottom.
Subsequent characters start at the higher level.

thanks for the info, everyone. I went along with a fresh level 2 playstyle. seems a little bit easier to tune my char the way I want, as I feel that the options provided with the level 20 didnt have enough customizability in the beginning to not have to spend time respeccing one of the prebuilds anyways. Might as well spend that time specializing in those first 20 levels and also experiencing some of the beginner questlines as they're "intended"

If you are a fan of the Fallout universe, it is fine to start at level 20.

If you have never played Fallout games, level 1 is a good choice for you.
