how to get .45 ammo
I have 22k of ultracite plasma for the anti armor prime enclave plasma rifle
but I am lacking ammo for my Fixer. I get a LOT of Ultracite ammo from basically anywhere
but .45 I get 4-5 on average per kill but it sometimes cost 6-8 ammo per kill.

so...trade? help me find place to grind ammo? ideas?

Craft it yourself with lead and unrefined gunpowder and use these perks:

Additionally, you can produce it with the ArmCo ammunition construction appliance.

Furthermore, you can take over the workshop at the Converted Munitions Factory and power up the munitions factory machine.

i dont use ultracite .45 but what i do to farm ammo for my fixer commando build, i go stealth rifleman sniper build with lever action rifle (uses same .45 ammo) and the ammo return is great when you one shot most things to the head. i just set some time aside and go clear out towns/settlements etc. and i get lots of ammo return per kill since most things take one to two shots and i get like 4 to 6 ammo back and that's not counting ammo you get from boxes/crates/etc.

Another option: if you do the nuka world on tour events when they show up, one of the prizes you can buy from the arcade terminals with nuka points is .45 ammo.

Run most sensational game expedition with other people.
Also you can daily equip the card that gives you more ammo from containers and go to the starting vault. Then you will want to go down, right and again down to a parking lot with a bus. Bus has an ammo duffelbag. When you exit the bus, go straight to the fence and theres ammo container. Go back to the bus and there should be a transporter with military like small checkpoint. Inside the transport should be another ammo container.

Then check the whole checkpoint for more. (Should be like two more or something)
THen come back to the bus and go straight to the direction where you found the ammo container. Basically in direction where meat week used to take place. You should find a car which should have another ammo container. Then go to the place where meat week used to take place and there should be a broken tent with campfire. Another ammo.

Then you will see a brotherhood camp on the map. Go there. There a ♥♥♥♥ tons of containers and also some resources so loot the whole place.
Then theres a wall facing down the mountain. Go down and loot some more. There should be 4 more somewhere. One next to a transport, one inside and the last one on the small lookout.

That way alone i got myself today over 1.5k ammo with no effort just by looting.
Do that everyday once loot respawns and you should be golden.

the ammo converter is good. when the dangerous pasttimes event was still on hourly loop last week i was swimming on like 90k+ minigun ammo (5mm) that i didnt use. so i just converted all that into points and into ammo i use (.45, 5.56, fusion cell)

Running around the area which takes 5 minutes at most everyday gets you a lot of free ammo so keep that in mind. If you combine it with crafting/converting then you will have a hard time fitting all that ammo in your stash.

EDIT: I just remembered there are also few ammo thingies in the new vault that is basically the center of the new regions story. Aint much but the travel is free and it takes about a minute to get to the chief security office. You can also hoard a lot of resources there as well and there are also few nuka colas there so if you will be in need of nuka colas for a challenge you can find some in that vault too.

bro just go to lucky hole with your excavator suit and get the lead out there and craft your ammo ... one run through lucky hole is like 500 lead and you can get with all perks like 10000 shots out of it FOR ONE EASY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RUN! After that go to summerville bookhouse, reset you item spawns repeat and you good to go for the whole week

1. 9 shot magazine vs 80 shot magazine
2. in close combat the rifle sux specially using vats, graphics are insane
3. fixer costs WAY less to repair than the rifle in mats.
4. Fixer shoots faster by the time I shot 2 shots with rifle I have shot 3 or 4 with fixer

both have same damage output according to information.

9 Shots? Are you running semi auto Fixer? We don't repair our guns with mats. I guess you still haven't accumulated enough of repair kits.
Repair Kits? You don't need repair kits. Just repair using the weapon bench for free using junk. You don't have to buy repair kits with real money/atoms

Many tips for gaining more amo. But additionsl most ammo problems with full automatic weapons like the fixer can be solved with a better shooting ... don't press the shooting button seconds down and kill an enemy with 15 bullets. But try to learn very short shooting, so that only 3 bullets go out with a very short button pressing. Many players "overkill" enemies with bullets. So don't sink 10 more bullets in a dead body.

The ammo return rate on .45 weapons is very low, almost nil in my experience.

htf is buying repair kits?? you get enough from the events and bosses most notably from the Boss and event of the new expansion ... im sitting right now on a stock of 193 repair kits (the better mones). Dont waste your junk for this use just the kits!

Agreed - I make 1,000's of Railway Spikes (Only uses steel), and convert the points to Fusion Cells!

Option B: Craft 2mm Electromagnetic, which only requires steel+lead. Then turn it all into the Ammo-converter. Why 2mm? Because it has one of the best convert ratios, easier materials AND - most importantly - one of the best convert AMOUNTS. 1500 rounds at a time for large amount of points, meaning you have to spend less time in the horrible ui of that converter. Then, obviously, use those points to get yourself a lot of .45 ammo from the converter;

Option C: Do a few "ammo runs" through several locations on the map, which have many ammo boxes/army duffle bags. Obviously with that Fixer in your hands, so that contextual ammo will give you .45 from the ammo boxes/army duffle bags. What locations? There are several. Just gotta have to google/youtube that stuff. I'd tell you, but this post is gonna be too long then.

Option D: Jump player camps that have "ammo" in their vendors. Players often sell that stuff for 1cap. I usually pick up all .45 that I found and constantly put it all up in my vendor - since my own Fixer(one of my multiple weapons) actually uses Ultracite .45 instead, so I have no use for regular .45 ammo.

And lastly... Work on your build. If your Fixer is "6-8 ammo per kill"... You're definitely doing something wrong or not using it properly. Fixer can (and should) kill most regular enemies in 1-3 shots, with few rare exceptions - where most other weapons also struggle to do the same too.

Probably just has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fixer
