Where was the announcement that the season was ending?

I remember every previous season having BLATANT warnings on the splash screen, but nothing this one

Did I really just miss out, like youtube content creators are saying today?

Not to mention the whole video covers that the new update brings a new season with skins, decorations and all the ♥♥♥♥ scoreboard has..

Let's be fair here:

The majority of players to not habitually watch YouTube videos or go to off-platform (even though official) websites everyday to see if maybe somewhere there's news about a thing.

The majority of players don't even use the Steam and other possible forums.

In typical Bethesda incompetence, the splash screen showed the non-functioning Gold Rush event banner (or whatever it was) and nothing actually useful to know.

It's a really sad day when they already have such functions in the game, on the log in screen, but then don't bother to use it actually reach everyone about important things.
Steam has a news feed, why isn't it properly utilized?
I assume the same is true for Xbox and wherever else F76 is available?

It should not be expected for players to also play the meta game of scrounging around for information off platform / or site that should be quite readily available but simply isn't because they couldn't give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about delivering a good product.

They pretend to offer a live service game but always forget the "service" part completely.

For me this was my first season in the game and i knew a week in advance when the update might be.
In the last couple of days it was specified when the update is gonna be..

i accidentally found it out yesterday when googling an events calendar for a friend

I had 2 bonus pages left.
Also had many unclaimed items.
I don't know why I didn't claim those atoms and boosts earlier, thinking the season would and at the end of June as it was stated in the previous roadmap.
