How do the magic suitcases work.
Are they the same thing as the regular donation boxes just different look?

Basically what I'm trying to figure out is, if I drop something in a donation box or suitcase, I know it will be available to whoever happens to find it but are they server specific or are they "worldwide"

If I put something in one or the other at say Sutton station and post on here or facebook that it's there, would you need to find me on whatever server I'm on to grab it or will it be there regardless?

First of all: suitcases and donation boxes aren't the same. Donation boxes are filled by the game with at least the ammunition of your last used (=active) weapon.

So now that we have that out of the way: what you fill in a suitcase is server specific. So no use to post something somewhere, the stuff in it will long be gone before someone reads your posting and comes a running.

The Donation boxes will retain their inventory until the server resets. The blue suitcases are subject to standard loot resets, so if you're going to do it, use the donation boxes.

Thanks, I was kinda assuming that's how they worked.

Pretty much anything put into any container, other than the Stash, is unique to that container. The contents will remain until removed by a player or the server resets the containers.

You can put stuff in the donation boxes, other players will see and be able to access it. Only at that box. Other donation boxes are unique to themselves. Any random container, suitcase-ammo box-chem box-filing cabinet, can be used to dump stuff in for others to find.

I like Nuka World myself. The Balloon box behind the Lego Scrap Machine is my goto these days. Otherwise the donation box at Foundation or in front of Vault 76 is where I like to dump my overflow.
