Are throwing weapons affected by the Ninja Perk?
Question in title?

If they are, then making legendary throwing weapons seems like a really wicked idea for an alpha/burst strike.

Probably not. Explosives(grenades, mines, etc) definitely aren't. It's possible, but throwing knives and the like are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in any FO, so I doubt anybody's ever tested it.

The wiki description say unarmed, 1 handed and 2 handed melee weapons. No mention of throwing weapons even though one is in the picture for the perk card.

I know i tested this a very long time ago but so many updates and things changing since then make it irrelevant. Plus i cannot remember what my conclusion was anyway......... :steamfacepalm:

They could make throwing daggers do 10k damage and it would take years before we noticed lol

The main value I've found in throwing knives is that you can sell them to npc vendors, but you can't sell them regular steel.

Maybe.
Throwables take the legendary damage bonus from whatever weapon you have equipped (bloodied, aristrocrats, etc.) and throwable kills count as that same weapon type towards things like challenges.
Example: Killing three enemies with a frag grenade with a shotgun equipped will count as three shotgun kills.

So by that same moon logic, maybe if you have a melee weapon equipped when you use a throwing weapon, other buffs like Ninja apply as well. Try it out and report back.

Last time I tested it throwing weapons were affected by only two perks (including bloody mess)

It was a huge let down. I'm not going to search the forum for how long ago that was but I believe it was ~ one year ago, maybe a little more.

if anyone finds they're working as intended please let me know!

Found this post, interesting read:

No idea about how valid this is, but I might try out some things here because I also like the idea of building around throwing knives.

Edit: not one to give much on what YouTubers say or do, but apparently Angry Turtle has featured this post, make of that what you will.

Eh, you got the tomahawk plan, right?
I've been waiting for them to hire the right person to implement better mechanics for this. Throw in a Boomerang-non-consumable thrown weapon to really make it a win.

Here's a little known interaction. The Minigun shredder doubles any source of damage when at close range. That includes bullets and explosive effects.

The range is fairly short, little more than melee range, but it should boost thrown weapon damage too. I haven't tried it but due to the way the mod works I don't see why it shouldn't... but it is so short range it removes a key attribute of they weapon being thrown...
