I only ever use level 0 or level 1 locks on resource extractors if I'm needing to gather a lot of that material, and even then just as a way to tell others I would prefer they not take whatever was locked. It doesn't hurt me if they do end up taking something.
The moment a camp item is unlocked / hacked? Then you have to LOCK that camp item again.
In short: lock the camp items you want, i have always locked some camp items like my birthday cake and my company tea.
I'm not a PvP person caus i'm terrible at it BUT... the moment some one steals from me? I gonna hunt them down no matter the cost.
I generally don’t mind my resource generators being open, and I specifically put out a Weenie Wagon and Water Cooler next to my vendor. But I decided, the other day, that I didn’t want people in my house.
I played with locks for a while and finally settled on level 0 locks on all my doors. I can walk in without having to lock pick, but they’re still locked.
On the other hand, I’ve also claimed 5 bounties in just the last few days. One was an Expeditions teammate.
If you walk through my locks, and I’m there to see it, I’m going to try to remove your wanted status.
Perfectly put mate ;)
When I played it 2018 I was the opposite, and it felt more wild west, every man for himself. I picked up again in 2024 and it feels much the opposite. I feel Fallout 76 generally has a really good community and I want to do my part to make it a positive one.
