Collectron, cant change what he picks up

So i just got myself second collectron. Nuka Quantum. I scrapped the dog collector and built quantum one instead and no matter what i cant seem to change what hes collecting. I needed some Nuka colas for daily but then i wanted to change it to electric scrap but theres nothing. No option to change it. I tried removing quantum and building dog and build quantum again and theres simply nothing.

Each Collectron has certain things it can and can't collect. Not all of them are interchangeable or can be set to collect whatever you want. To save us both a little time, here's a list of Collectrons that you can/could obtain (I'm not sure if some of them are still available or not), and what they can be set to collect: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Collectron

Edited to clarify: The Nuka Quantum Collectron can only collect Nuka Cola variants, Nuclear Material and Ultracite. Which is why you can't change it.

I can't answer that, I don't work for Bethesda or on this game.

Also the answer to the second question is no. Bethesda doesn't read Steam forums.

I will say that if you store your collectron rather than scrap it, you can just use the arrow keys to choose a different one once it's stored, so you don't have to use up the materials to make a whole new one. That's what I do if I need something specific. Store it, set down the one that will get me what I need in its place.

I dont know. I was told from the start that it doesnt matter which collectron you have. If you know plans for multiple collectrons, you need just one in which you can choose whatever you want them to collect. but of course it doesnt work. My friend was also shocked and it seems to be working for him.
He mentioned that it might start working in couple of days or something. But i really have no idea..

Sometimes the selection won't show on the screen. Just hit space or e anyway and it should populate the options.

Only in a work shop, its limited to the selection of you have to build, a particular collectron. Because some one could capture it, if you leave the server, or they are looking for pvp. Because they might not own it in the Atomic Shop, or Bought it for Bullion. The Bullion variants might be different like the Strength Bench, Since you can get it for Bullion, or from the Atomic Shop.

But, in a Camp, you should able to change it to what you want. Follow the menu, on the terminal on the side. It should list the, options of what you can collect. You may have to hit your interact tap for reading to the next page, and the you just select the one you want.

But, How many Collectrons do you have? If its just one, then you only have one option, and the SantaTron Collectron comes out during Santa Time, winter, or Maybe for the 1950's theme when, it was not just Happy Holidays, but Merry Christmas.

Some come with the Seasons, or events Like, the BoS Collectron. Season ones, should be available with Bullion, at the Bullion Dealers, per character. Season Collected ones, and Atomic Shop, for All characters per Account.

I think my Nuka Cola Quantum Collectron, have it set to Junk and Electronics, and it still gets a little Nuka Cola, and quantum, but has junk and electronics. But its not as much as if it was set to Nuka Cola Quantum and related materials. I have that one, on one character, in their camp.

So ladies and gents my friend was right and it actually did load up after.. well it wasnt exactly a day but it loaded after very long time. Now i can choose electric scrap while using Quantum collector.

Wiki has some serious explaining to do.

I guessed, you had 2. From the Quantum, and one of the F.E.T.C.H. Dogs, but in should be at the bottom of the terminal screen, when you use to the terminal on the side of the collectron. Use your arrow keys and pick what you want them to look for. From what you have posted you should only have 2 things to pick. There have been many collectrons, released. Each just acts like a program holotape for the other in your camp. Workshops are now, different and do not work the same as the one in the camp.

Well, there was absolutely nothing until today. I guess it fixed itself or it finally registered i finally have more than one collectron which seems to happen.
