Herbivore or carnivore
I’m herbivore and focusing on making caps it is the best, I cant even sell all the cooked meat from events and it pays well. Herbs needs gathering if it is not in your camp, then what do you prefer? Buffs?

The Youtubers seem to all suggest Herb. Something to do with company tea action point regen boost?

Me, I'm rocking the carnivore as I tend to always have meat to eat. And don't have the tea machine. When/if I get it, I may change.

I guess you could make plants at your base and end up with a more dedicated single source food that then would be easier to hotkey?

Carnivore is more suited for loot goblins and melee or heavy builds. Herbivore is more suited for pure DPS usually low HP vats stealth commando builds. Both are equally good at farming XP, but carnivore is overall much better option for balanced gameplay. Usually the reason to pick herbivore over carnivore is a 100% crit damage juice. While herbivore gets bonus from company tea, carnivore will get a lot of flexibility from +8 agility buffs and +50AP buffs. I am not sure if herbivore can have something like that or at least as easy as you can get it with carnivore. Most people will pick herbivore. Not me.

I don't think that herbivore has anything that can give you +8 Endurance and +50 weight from one dish which is extremely easy to cook. Or something that can give you +75 weight.

You can get Rad stack producing camp item from Mortimer. That's +50 weight ready to be cooked in your camp whenever you need it. Cost 1250 bullions.

Carnivore is best for melee characters, Herbivore is best for pretty much every other build.

Carnivore is far superior to Herbivore for practicality, but Herbivore has the higher ranged damage and higher total XP boost technically.

Carnivore has 50 lbs. carry weight booster off Radstag which is almost free (I almost can't imagine playing without this anymore).

I already have all vegetables and fruit at my camp but there are others ones it requires to go out to gather.

Carnivore if you're going heavy gunner or melee (Deathclaw steak 5 str) (Yao Guai ribbs, 100% melee damage)
Herbivore if you're going VATS.

Can you get +8 agility and +50AP along with company tea as herbivore? That's 130AP

I've been mulling over this same question and my conclusion is that Carnivore is the way to go from a purely practical standpoint. First off I'll just address the elephant in the room and say that while I totally appreciate people who go to extremes with min/maxing and metas I personally don't see the point since the difficulty in this game is such that no matter how I'm specced I'm probably going to win every fight. I don't have the time or patience to sit around micromanaging everything just so I can save a few minutes of playtime.

Since I don't power game or get too deep into the meta I'm mainly thinking about keeping myself fed. And in my experience I always have way more meat than non-meat in my pack. It's not even close. If you do two or three events a day the odds are good that by the time you log off you'll have way more meet to cook than veggies. So I'd go with Carnivore.

Honestly it doesn't matter much. I have one of each and they play identicly.

lol ... , never have tried it (herbivore or carnivore) ... !

Most of my buffs are herbivore but still have 2 or 3 buffs that are carnivore, so ... .

imo Carnivore is better. Food bonuses aren't terribly useful, end-game. Very rarely do they ever actually matter in performance. Even on events/missions with limited participants, like Expeditions, Daily Ops, or the Monongah Mine event, they're not that useful. BUT, Meat is extremely readily available, easy to get, and honestly, water is just an afterthought. Not to mention, with the Mirelurk Steamer, you get Fillets. Those give 500 HP per, when you nom them. Easy healing.

airvore.
go on diet.

I find Grilled Radstag nice since you can put a resource station in your CAMP for it and it gives carryweight which I'm always over.
