Too many players just care about the big XP numbers they see and as long as that is happening they seem to not worry about the event totally failing.
I have once even deliberately not talked to the scavenger who starts the event to see if all the players up on the roofs and other things would jump down and take action, nope. They just sat there and let it time out. That one amazed me.
Also when there are not as many players at the event there is an issue I see at rad rumble and other events. Players won't stay put and do an objective. They feel the need to run around to try to tag everything but forget to protect the scavengers or run ore of do any other things that are the main objective. Sometimes you need to just stay still and do the objective. Unless it requires you to move of course.
Ok my pep talk is over
It's always needed ore. They just changed the amount required. Additionally, it used to end immediately when the last ore was dropped.
At the same time, I feel the OP's pain. I don't know how many times I've gotten to Eviction Notice in time to watch it fail because some numpty went running past the rad scrubber in their rush to stake out the best spot and then sat there, watching the timer to repair it run down to zero. Failing the event before it even started because they couldn't be bothered to go back and fix it.
Yep. I have also had many where literally no one bothers to protect the uphill side of the rad scrubber at all. Everyone just sits on the cliffs and waits for the legendary spawns, but they won't move to even destroy the meat bags that trigger the spawns or stop the event from failing. Just face palm.
When I worked as a mechanic, we had a saying "When all else fails, get a bigger hammer... if that doesn't work, then read the instructions."
Maybe they would read the instructions if the rewards were adjusted to a more favorable RNG multiplier by completing more objectives?
BTW- I run a chainsaw melee build, and running at each SM during EN usually gives me more script than I can bank in a day. Campers like to sit around the downhill valley farming XP. Most won't bother to fix the rad scrubber when a swarm of SMs come down from the workshop area either. Sometimes they come up behind the campers and surprise them.
and theres still reasons to be happy the event didnt bug out we all just failed :D
I run at least two tunnels, and have either a flamer, or flaming auto-axe on me. I do my best to keep things going. But I can’t be in two places at once (yet) so while I’m out running ore, I’m depending on people to keep the scavengers alive. And all too often they will die while I am away.
