Acid?
Need acid so I can make fuel for my flamer. No one seems to sell fuel or acid. Love the flamer. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The best source for acid just ended (Fasnacht Event), but you can always harvest off of creatures such as Wendigos. Earle's minion hordes in Monongah Mine (nuked) is also a great place for acid (the teeth).

Along with all the above suggestions, these are a good source of acid:

The Syringer is one answer. Bloatfly gland is your answer to acid AND Fluids needed to make Flux. You mod the Syringer with the Bloatfly larva syringer barrel. You get that mod only by scrapping syringers.
It is a sequence that can be interupted by other people killing the Bloatfly BEFORE you can shoot it with a dart. If you do it in the nuke zone it will sometimes spawn a glowing one to get fluids, but don't forget to shoot it with a dart first.
The mod causes targets to explode and spawn a bloatfly so first you dart a scorched, then kill it with a regular gun, the bloatfly spawns, dart it, repeat until your full.

As mentioned already, another thing to strongly consider is the ammo points ammo converter machine.

You toss in all your unwanted ammo like .38 and .44 for example and you can convert it into any other regular ammo like flamer fuel. I have my machine always full with 100k points so i can take out heaps of flamer fuel at any time. Or any other ammo i might need to use like plasma for plasma flamers.

It is tedious to use as the interface is slow and only works in preset amounts, you cannot just dump all unwanted ammo in one go sadly. However it is great for those who do not have Fallout 1st as it is a large ammo storage that does not take up stash space.

I have 50,000 rounds of 5 mm from looting everything not nailed down at the Eviction notice event. it gets turned into fuel on a regular basis. I have a gatling laser for mundane things and then the vampire chain saw and holy fire for the difficult ones.

another source for acid is the Moonshine Jamboree event.
just look for acidic gulper gland from the gulpers :VBOY:

Acid is a pain in the butt to keep topped off. I usually kill the gnashers at meat and greet. They always spawn glowing if you need that too.

If you are lvl 50+? Then you don't need to make any ammo....

2 simple options:

1 - go to OPS (UPLINK) fix 1 signal repeater... find a good spot... kill as many enemies as you can and you get tons of ammo.

2 - do the Expedition Atlantic city tax evasion (the most simple and easiest Expedition there is) and you get a sh*t load of ammo. I run that expedition 6 to 8 times a day and in my case have already a half million fuel ammo the last month.

So do those things and you will never ever short on ammo.

You can look at events which have heaps of bugs or gulpers. Moonshine jamboree, tea time, camp fire tales, and blue ridge events could. Scrap down items like blood bug proboscis, bloat fly gland, and acidic gulper glands. Limiting how many spoiled items you turn into fertilizer and limiting smelting inferior ores like steel which can be high quantity in your pocket and conserve acids. Check vendors for bulk acid as well. Converting a lot of excess steel into railway spikes and selling them on the ammo points is a steady endeavour to purchase fuel. Batteries can be found near benches,

Why hunt components when you can farm ammo directly?

Equip the scrounger perk. Go to a location with lots of green containers (ammo boxes, duffle bags etc.) such as the Pleasant Valley Ski Resort or the BoS Forest camp. Use contextual ammo to farm without expending much (maybe a few Scorched).

Spending some time farming will set you up for shooting time later. Baking a cake is far more efficient with a little preparation.

Ammo converting machine is not bad either if you own one. Fuel is one of the cheapest to buy in that machine.

To OP, the folks that suggested the ammo converter are have it right. The way I use it is, Super Duper, Ammosmith & ammo factory. Craft railway spikes as all they take is steel. You can gain steel faster than any other resource. Craft to your hearts content, then convert them. Cheap effective ammo source.

Yeah i did not mention this in my post about the converter but this is the best way to fill it if you do not already have enough surplus ammo to fill it.

Scrap weapons with scrapper perk to easily get tons of steel and make spikes with all the perks and put them all in the machine.

This works well also. I do this often if i am in the area where there are ammo boxes or duffles. Just have the gun you want ammo for equipped when you get near the ammo container.

Flamer is one of the better weapons to use this method as you get 50 or so each time. It adds up fast for very little effort.

End of the day we have lots of choices and different ways to get ammo easily which is good. Never been easier to stay well stock on ammo. I personally do not agree with all the changes to make the game so much more casual but it is not going to revert anytime soon so just accept and move on.
