Those technologies are just tricks to make people think they need to buy new hardware.

Take NVIDIA cards. 10 series still use the same drivers as 30 and 40 but don't have the same functions. It's all a software limitation, not hardware.

If tech wasn't so greedy and so disrespectful of the environment they could easily push older hardware much further. But... no... they are stuck in the consume and discard mindset...

Tricking you into thinking a high fps means anything... It's all smoke and mirrors, false memories. Don't be surprised when the A.I. wins as we all just let it into our homes...

That will simple make the game look way worse than is now. DLSS is ugly.

I don't know what resolution textures FO76 uses but many look low-res to me. That could prevent upscaling tech from being effective. I tried downscaling from 4k to 1080p and it looked worse than normal 1080p whereas normally there is a marked improvement.

Downscaling from you monitors resolution will always make things look worse than if the monitor was born with the resolution you downscale to.

EDIT: The reason why i dont have 4K monitors and stick to 1440P "2K" is because of this, downscaling will make things look worse specially if you downscale a 4K monitor down to 1080P resolution.

Also Mooman are not correct here, DLSS is amazing, and you need the hardware to support the software, thats why 10xx series Nvidea GPU cant have it, the hardware dont support the software. "You cant just install softwares on a car from the 60s even though the hardware are the same as cars from today that runs on fossil fuel" Its actually hardware limitations and not software limitations. 10xx series GPU are old cars today.

Also the 551.76 driver are not actually the same from GPU 10xx to 40xx, sure the number of the software "551.76" are the same but the software it self are not, Nvidea Experience just detects the GPU you have and install the right version of the 551.76 for you GPU.
This is nothing new, this has always been the case even when you had to do all of this manual from their webpage, you had to find you GPU to make sure that the right version of the driver "software" got installed.
Sure.. let's buy a 2000 Euro card to downscale the image because reasons! Very usefull, i rather carve my eyes than buying an expansive card just to downscale the resolution and made it worse looking than native.
Spending a lot of money for a 4k capable rig just to not play at 4k at all while companies starts to refuse optimizing the games because there is dlss and fsr doing the crap job.

My 4060ti will do 2160p-1080p on FO76 around 80 fps on average max settings. But the image is much the same as 1080p so I wouldn't buy one just for that. 300 Euro equivalent where i live.

I would definitely not count on this happening. This game uses the same engine they've had for over a decade and used in Oblivion, Skyrim and the other Fallouts. If they didn't add it to them, they probably won't add it now.

id prefer em to let us reduce draw distance for terrain

Bro this fossil engine can't even do ultrawides and RTX cards, that first. The second part, is that BGS has completely downscaled any technical developments on this game (you have not paid attention) and only monetizes Fo1st and atomic shop. That's literally it, this port that you are playing is what was released + hot fixes in 2018-2019 era.

I want DLAA just because it will make the game look better
hawkeye Mar 13, 2024 @ 6:02am
Erratic frametime can be a cause of blurriness if that's what you mean by soapy.
Ruby Morji Apr 30, 2024 @ 10:53am
Ya'll saying it cant happen because the engine are so stupid, yea its an older version but it took starfield a few months time before they implemented DLSS, and it was probably just a few lines of code and done. They could absolutely do it and it would benefit the game greatly cause TAA is the worst anti-alias in existence and actively hinders performance.

it's been more than 5 years... what you see is what you get at this point... sad but whatever.. fallout 5 will save us all and it will just work xD

i'd be pissed if i got into the game early with big hopes for the future but i just hopped in for 10bucks one time purchase lol

it's pretty much what i expected.. decent bit of fun in a very janky package.. worth 10$ one time purchase. not much more.

all that upscaling things like dlss or fsr just makes the game look worse.

you can disable taa btw. look under documents in the mygames/fo76 folder and edit the fo76prefs.ini. seach for taa and replace taa with a 0.

you prob need to go re educate yourself, dlss makes most games look better, fsr is pretty poor
